I don't doubt it dewie. We had 6 of us that were faction mates since before Brazil, and only implemented this after a year of rotating the No 1 hitter role in our faction, putting up usually 1+ Mill WD points per war each.

Trust has to be earned for sure, we figured we're losing the money anyway, so might as well give it a try and see if it works. Worked really well, bonus gold at that level lasts a hell of a long time.
