GLITCH or BIZARRE KIND OF WARPED GIFT?

in the past couple days I've noticed what are probably, from their stats, pretty new players on my Rival's list- like 2% of my Attack. Anybody else? Are they just seeing if I'll rob a level 1 Laundromat to trigger a Boss? Is something screwed up?

I have average both and I saw a guy with 6m defense, then another with 23m, so yeah the rivals list is messed up. Both of them around my level

Uh, it's "Red BD", but no problem....

My stats ain't much to write home about. Was actually trying to avoid this, but it's like 300m+- not something I'd brag about. Also my iph could probably benefit from a neurosurgeon. So is it just a temporary fluke that players with 5m, or 12m, etc show up, or is it just part of the game? I'm frankly more concerned about where I might be showing up.
