Feel sorry for the new players

Our faction has a few newbies that just joined recently. Their attack stats are around 300 million. Most of that came from the faction level prizes they got from joining us. But in the last war they really didn't have much they could do. After that free for all stat grab a month or so ago everyone in the faction is in the high double digit billions as are most other players. These new guys walk in and everyone they don't stand a chance. Made me wonder how many NEW players that are joining the game actually stick around and continue to play? I've been here since it started but if I came in today I would think, "What is the point? Everyone is 200 times more powerful than I am. They can never catch up. Their income will never match either. What incentive do those guys have and if Gree is losing the whales, how do they save the minnows?

It was the same when I started nearly three years ago. Players have always had to play catchup. It's only during WD that they may struggle, though they can still hit walls and the cc.

The stats may have moved but the situation hasn't, there are plenty of ways new players can help and their stats will improve over time just like the rest of us.

As an example I started a new mini a few weeks ago and through faction participation I have got it to 10b attack. It's not hard, in fact I'd go so far as to say it's easier to build stats now because of boost buildings.

That is a good question. If you get new low stat players in an established faction then they are going to get targeted big time and likely cost the faction battles.

The only sensible way to deal with this is to split factions before WD. In other words you have enough spots in the main faction to accommodate all players and during FLTQs or a doable Raid Boss bulk them up with units.

Once WD starts hopefully an experienced player will have an LLP of similar level and stats that can be the second faction DL. This is how I do WD now though for some dumb reason I built a third faction last WD. But I digress, then move players with similar stats into the other faction. The guys from the main faction can drop down and bulk up their cash and blocks if needed but then this will require one player to act as a placeholder for the second faction when everyone is in FLTQ and RB.

I've been doing this for almost a year and it works well. Granted I also do maybe 5-6 tops per faction but I was having so much fun experimenting with my 1 player faction that I did 10 battles.

I do not see why people would play this game at this point in time. They would be so far behind and no way of catching up. Also, i hope the reviews in the App Store would make them think twice before downloading.

Being in a 1 man faction or with LLP might be the only way to go for the new players.

I wish them luck if they try to play this forsaken game.

Am I missing something here? What exactly are these new guys supposed to be catching up? It's not a race, we're not going anywhere.

Also, how much help did you guys get when you started? I certainly didn't get any

Last time I checked a level 10 player could only be attacked by those near or around them! There are plenty of events that low level players can compete in and building stats has never been easier.

As I said, am I missing something ?

You just don't join top factions as a new player. Start from the bottom like top1000 and work your way up.

A new player will never catch up per se unless you are willing to spend silly amounts of gold. Need to be happy with where you are. But you may be able to get closer to the middle of the pack who are mostly casual spenders or gold free players. But to do that, you need to be around when Gree introduces their next inflationary cycle. Then by pure effort (ie: lack of sleep), you can hopefully close the gap against players who have a real life and choose to sleep.

I don't agree that new players are a liability on a team. Very few battles are the type where hitting the command center can get you a win. It's always good to have a wall hitter or a PA specialist. Since their regen will suck, they are only needed once per battle. But they need to be active. We had one in our team and he hit the wall over 100x. Those guys are priceless.

Like with anything else in life, starting at the bottom and working your way up to the top is not easy, nor can any and every one do it. But it is possible, and will require lots of cash like it did for the ones there now.

The new guys are only being matched to others in their relative level. There are plenty of factions for them to join in the lower ranks to build up stats. Our faction has a minimum requirement, 300 million won't make it. But we have a training faction that will allow 300 million that we help out.

That's the way it's always been. You don't install a new game and go knocking on SUPs door unless you are looking for rejection.

The point isnt that you can immediately get into a top 10, its just the fact that if you start now, its almost impossible to get anywhere. I started playing during the first wd, and i was in a top 4000. When the first couple ltqs came around, i ended spending a vault or so to finish them. With those stats, i was able to get into a top 50, and with moderate gold spending, I stayed for 5-6 cycles. Thats just not possible anymore. The bonuses they hand out now just arent good enough to make a difference.

Exactly, personally I think a 60 player faction made up of active high stat but low level players can outscore top teams if they had the health packs or cash. Though personally I would never ever even contemplate spending at the levels top teams appear to be. But based on how WD points appear to be given out it seems to me players of a lower level who take out a higher level but lower stat player can score big points. And the flipside if a faction of high level players draws you then they won't get as many points per hit then you would at least that is how it seems to work up to top 250-500.

Again, that's only relevant in a single event. There is more than one event you know.

Nobody needs any help as a new player! Why should they be able to compete with top teams within a month? Those guys have spent a lot of hard earned cash to get where they are! And they deserve respect for their modern war ranks! Nobody ever helped me or anyone else in this game! Well...except GREE themselves. All they have to do is patiently wait for the next glitch, exploit or stat crazy madness event to take place. Then...poof! Instantly competitive! Not with the mighty lords of the realm, but certainly with anyone around them in rank that was caught snoozing during a 6 day farm-a-thon! So please quit trying to offer up some GREE welfare, food stamps, or un-employment. A capitalist game has no room for bleeding heart liberal democrats!

My experiments have proved your hypothesis correct for the last several WD events.

Even if you can't attack players with apparently higher stats, incessant wall and CC tapping will still allow you to prevail against the MW Davids.
