cost me 43k to buy... it's a money building and takes 23 hours to build. Reward for completing the building of the L1 is a mound chest.

As you can see, this building has an incredibly low payout. It's one of the lowest IPH buildings we have access to. Not as terribad as the Water Mill (worst building besides the Castle) but it's still bad. At least it's cheap.

They've used the non-US standard date format. The usual Gree attention to detail I see

I never got by splash screens anyhow. They've been wrong in the past (even when using proper US date formats). Look in you quest log. 20 days, 16h currently left.

Actually screen shots are always posted in the correct format relevant to the country. I am from the UK and the date format is correct. One thing Gree have got right consistently.

If that's the case then I'm sure it's just returning the value of some function call which means that Gree isn't directly responsible for it.

Are all the rewards crates? I am finishing level two and the stated lvl three reward is the crate again. Anyone get any further than that yet?

Starting at level 4, you get a different crate with better units. It probably gets better as you progress. In the store under specials, you can see the chests.
