I believe gree said that soldier accounts for 30% of the battle and army items 20% or something like that , so it's better to have a better soldier that way that part of the equation will be closer...

Another bug, not sure if any others have noticed , but when you get a successful double strike or triple , the 2nd and 3rd attack don't have the same army and soldier attack strength , army went down...
