Double strike works. It is two single strike rolls. It is not one roll x 2. Hence the variations.

The reason you go down to half health is you hit a second time before the double strike first...

1mystery is right. The MW community could easily shun sup teams. When you match them in FL or WD put up zero points. They can tap to their hearts content but will always see 0 for their opponents....

If it is rival brings 3 fewer alliance members to war I'm curious how that boost would affect fighting against someone with alliance size of 1, 2, or 3.

In other words, you would have won if you had scored more points than your opponents?

Doubling for sup 1, sup 2 on first battle but none of the other top 10 sure suggests it isn't random.
