What to do with your money - except buying explosives???

I am at level 128 with 124k/h income. 22kA/24kD and don't know what to do with my money. I buy blast shields for 210k but they only give me a poor 13 def, Taser for 190k give me 3A/9D, a Dual Machine Gun for 2mil only gives me 5/14. In contrast to the Excelero giving me 28/14 still ( have 94) and M4A1 (have 241) 12/16. I don't see the sense of putting my money in building upgrades since there is nothing my money can buy - except explosives which until now I refused to buy. I need advice from those with the 200 or 300k/h income. What do you do with your money? In terms of building defense and attack the weapons you can buy seem to be useless. I am sitting right now on 10mil. Need investment strategy.

I don't think money is useless until you buy the most expensive item and it give you no point. You'll never buy jet plane with 130k income, chains saws will also not get you far. It's always worth it to increase income

definitely build your income and you will be thanked for it in the long run. Work on upgrading what you can and always have something building or upgrading. I have over 200k income and wont stop there, the more money i have the better high end weapons i can purchase down the track.

Build that economy, and forget the rest. Let your items wait until you cant find many targets in your rival list. When that day comes, you will be buying at the right time... with a much larger pile of cash.

1 Caveat... if you must wait in between money buildings to afford the next, buy a gatling. :)

Lvl 137 - 275k+/hr 20kA/24.5KD

the best investment for in-game cash is defense buildings, imho. you can use your income to expand your hood and build + upgrade defense buildings (preferably to level 3). gatling turret and missile turret are the best choices considering they take up little space, but muay tai is not too bad as well.

50 gatling, lvl 3: 50*50=2,500
50 missile, lvl 1: 50*21=2,100
50 muay tai, lvl 3: 50*36=1,800

total: 6,400

this requires considerable investment in money and time- tens of millions cash ($44.1M to be exact) and thousands of hours (3,669hrs = 5months). building 50 missle turrets to level 3 is a huge challenge, that's why i put level 1 in the calculation, not an unrealistic goal.

the whole exercise of computing defense building investment made me realize how difficult it is to increase your defense stat. the challenge is even more pronounced when one considers boosting attack stats.

...makes you wonder if explosives are the way to go after a certain point.

if you feel that spending income on defense is futile- a totally reasonable idea- your best bet is investing in-game cash on money buildings and relying on timely collection as your primary defense!

Hey Helpme, I've done some calculations and conclude that $90m is about the maximum one needs for weapon purchases. Beyond that, buying weapons no longer adds anything to your attack or defense. This is because respect and loot items are more attractive than cash weapons. If you have 500k respect points, anything above $90m gets you nothing more in weapons, unless funzio comes up with some money weapons that's better than taser and blast guard helmets at the moment.

If $90m is all you need, then there is no need keep investing in income upgrades beyond a certain point, depending on your playing time horizon.

Which leaves defense buildings as the only sensible use of money. You will need money to expand your hood to put in those muay Thais and missiles and snipers.

My $90m does not include explosives. In the end game, theoretically you will need to have 500 mines and napalm...so yes, you are right, buy explosives too as they form part of the end game inventory.

Thanks. This is what I thought. There are no real "high end weapons" to buy. All higher RP weapons are better. I just bought 80 Napalms and my attack score us up by over 1000 :-).

With a just a $50,000/hour income, you can easily attain $90m in 90 days or 3 months of play. That is enough to buy you all the weapons you need. From the optimizer model that I built, anything in excess of $90m is not even used for buying weapons.

In other words, as we approach end game, robberies become much less important as money is cheap in the game. Money is cheap also means that building up the economy or buying gold buildings becomes meaningless.

Earning respect points is the key to 'winning' the end game. Earning up to 500-600k respect points is the real challenge of the end game. Money and income is secondary. Money can't buy you chain whips, FBG, or exeleros.

Exeleros are unlikely to play a big part in the end game. An optimal allocation requires you to fill up the 500 lots of NVBs first, followed by about 300-400 Yamahas, followed by 300 whips. Exeleros only start to contribute when you can earn 500k of respect points and above. Its a very late game weapon.

Hood expansion becomes paramount to create space not for economic buildings, but for defense buildings.

Save up money in the bank, in case Funzio comes up with some game-changing weapons to buy with in-game money. This will likely be the case.

I think that low an income is making it awfully hard for yourself! Something north of $250K is a much more comfortable and practical level IMHO.

Absolutely spot on...my current expansion (25 million) is for this sole purpose and so will be my next one or two. I probably only need one or two more expansions for buildings at most for the Casinos but that will be a while yet...unless there are some more worthwhile buildings released in the interim - probably likely!

Applemacguy, what is the makeup of your weapon inventory, and how many respect points have you earned to date?

I'm only at level 138, but I'm fully expecting that one high end item I will have to buy mass quantity of is FBI Shields, It will increase my Def by 8 points. As I intent to spend RP on Chain Whips and Exceleros and equip my Armor with NVB and FBI shields (combined 16/24), it seems like a better end-game options then Full Combat Gear (17/27). So, ~400 FBI shields = $600,000,000 and equals an increase on 3,200 defense...this can only be accomplished in the late stages with a huge ecomony ($250,000/hr+).

No idea how much RP I have earned, but a quick breakdown of the major weapons as follows:

Sawn-Off Shotgun - 401
RPG - 80
M4A1 - 181
Serrated Blade - 203
Chain Whip - 120
NVB - 402
Full CG - 42
Yamaha RB - 403
Exelero - 40

Plus a large and growing stack of explosives...working on this area the most at present :cool:

PS I have no gold weapons at this time and don't currently plan on buying any...
