[Ask the Devs] Round 1: Modern War

Hello Players,

We are going to start something new. This is the first round, so there might be a few kinks to work out. Every other month, we're going to open a thread for a single week, Monday-Friday. This thread will alternate games; this means it will not always be Modern War focused. You may ask developers questions. We'll close the thread and then two weeks later publish a set number of answers. This first month we are aiming to answer 5 questions from players.

Notes about questions:
Please don't ask specific questions such as "When is the next FLTQ?" or "Why is that boss's health x/x?"

1) What if anything will be done about defensive buildings?

2) what about old cash buildings? CJ posted about a month ago that we may see them the released for a week or two.

Are we going to be able to see a list of prizes for events again anytime soon? its nice to have them before the event starts, and makes life easy for people creating a walkthrough for the benefit of the game.

Its been many months since we have seen a big gold sale, 40% off or better. We now have 12 events in 3 weeks time, and a big gold sale would be helpfull to many players. Would you consider doing it again? Or is it a thing of the past? Thank you.

This has been discussed at length. We will not be publishing full list of the prizing for all tiers. Apologies for any frustrations that may cause.

I would like to ask what to do next in this situation:
I sent a ticket (#1642737) about a month ago regarding an accidental purchase. The person replying said "I'm escalating your ticket directly to one of our Modern War Player Experience Specialists, who will get back to you as soon as possible." I have heard nothing back since then, and the ticked shows "assigned". Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Devs,

You seem to be capable of running multple events simultaneously every few days.
The prize structure must already be in place at the start of the event, so WHY can't we get a list of the prizes at the start.
If not a complete list, at least the milestone prizes; 50,100,150 boss kills, faction wrapper, FLTQ normal, prestige, ILTQ,normal, prestige & wrapper.
There's still confusion about the big prizes on the current epic boss,& now this Buzzbomb FLTQ, we're chasing an invisible carrot!
If you can't keep up with your own deployment of events, perhaps you should slow down. I'm sure much of the MW community prefer quality over quantity.

I noticed that a lot of your buildings are defensive bonuses such as the Composite Factory. Do you think there could be buildings to raise your Attack? Also do you think Gree would ever creat a building that members who are with Modern War for certain amount of times (I.E. Yearly anniversary) can purchase as a way to thank us for being a committed customer?

I hope you guys can post the information for at least some of these events. I'd like to at least see the prizes for those BLTQ buildings, the cost to upgrade, and payout. Hopefully the times to upgrade.

1) the events seem to be running a bit smoother then before. As a community we have raise numerous problems in the past with events. Cost/ various running problems. One of my fav would be the Axis of evil. Kill 200 bosses stuck on 10. Those who took advantage of this and use gold to complete it was given a refund? The rest had to struggle through harder bosses and cost us more gold... My question would be why is this fair logic?

My other question is what is or has been done to make up to the players of past events? We here "were trying to work out what to do" but we think you hope with enuff time passed and events we will forget.

2) rumours of a building that cost valour float around from time to time... Is there any weight in this?

3) at the start of a cycle can we get a list of what the events are. Some are easy to guess some not so.

Will there be any updates/changes to the Inventory?

I had a question,I have too ask,I had a bunch of valor and used it too buy valor units,then,all of a sudden new valor units came out,and I feel I wasted all my valor on weaker valor units,is there anyway you all can come up with a way we can sell our old valor units and redeem valor back, to purchase new ones,kinda like how you can buy a cash bldg & sell it,even if it meant getting only half the valor back,That would be awesome,same principle maybe can be used on old cash units,please let me know what you think

1. Can we get stats in terms on millions, for example instead of 860000000 we see 860M

2. Would it be possible to make an adjustment to World Domination points and use a different algorithm?

Such as, attacking a player who is the same level or higher but within 10% of your attack yields a consistent max of 400 points? I can hit the same target as someone else but since I'm L300 I get 25%-50% less points.

3. Raise the amount per PvP attack from $300K to something a lot higher, perhaps a boost unit so the person still loses $300K but you receive $3Mil?

4. Back to PvP increasing valor payment, so each hit gives 100 valor at least so there's more incentive to attack someone?

5. Any chance to bring PvP tournaments back?

6. Status on new faction upgrades, including membership size or perhaps different boosts offered?

7. Alliance Defense units like in Kingdom Age

8. Vault size has been increased from 90Mil to ~240Mil less than 3X increase. But in Kingdom Age there's been almost a +6X increase in vault size and inflation has been less so the MW increase relative to KA isn't 1/2 but 1/4 the impact. What about a $1 bil vault?

I'm glad Gree is considering customer recommendations and hopefully it's a sign the company is trying bridge the confusion and frustration gap between the customer base and those who produce the product.

How many polls, surveys, complaints, threads, tickets and refunds before Gree finally listens to their customers. You act like they are trying to help us. But reality is they ran out of ideas how to take money from us. This is only a ploy to make it look like Gree is helping but whatever is said here will get twisted and use our ideas. All it will do is cost us more money.

While I know fortifications are basically cannon fodder, they are still used. Would you please revamp your program so we could enter the number of forts we want and at what level instead of going through the dedious process of upgrading them one at a time?

Also, ban the pizza guy.....that was just uncalled for.

Can you please arrange our inventory in some form other than random? This is long over due.

With many factions maxed or almost maxed on bonuses will there be new faction bonuses coming soon?

we all r fed up by attack boost or defence boost!!!!
can u bring some new boosts such as:- 1)+100gold for completing prestige
2)5m valor for completing prestige
3)can u give +1energy regen to smaller factions??
4)-5% health regeneration to smaller faction during frontline(full assault) so that only a specific factions receives it.
5)bring some boost reward or valor or +10gold reward for completing indi-normal/faction-normal, so that smaller faction will also be benefited.......

hope ur team do something new for smaller factions to grow up......

What is the purpose behind punishing players for leveling?

Can you please revamp the worthless defense buildings that we can put in our bases. They have absolutely zero impact except the occasional lost cash unit from an attacker. Maybe instead of the worthless skill point you make them act like inventory units that act as a raid defense. Just need to make them worth something instead of the decoration they currently are.

Firstly if you're going to do threads like this PLEASE LISTEN TO US unlike before when nobody really wanted 100 bosses,now we have 150,we don't want to be on this game 24/7.

1)Everyone wants a water building,you make the new water building massive ,or at least bigger than one piece of extension ,then everyone would have to extend four times to get two buildings,or two long x half land and water,perfect building for this the floating fortress in pirate flotilla would fit in with my SUGGESTIONS as it's BIG!
Wether it's just a big cash payout like the amr,s or a valour payout,say 500k every 12 hours at lvl ten,or whatever is comparable to a lvl ten cash le building,for instance,lvl ten Zambia pays out $28m every four hours for me so I can basically replace two growlers every 4 hours,hope you get what I mean.

2)With the valour units as they are,the payouts in some of the events recently have been a complete waste of time,I mean 25 valour for getting to a certain level of the ltq helps nobody, most of the new game players won't complete ltqs so why not make every lvl at least worth something they don't really benefit and us high level,well I get more than that for attacking someone once.

3) Inventory sorting for iOS ,you've done it for android so why not iOS,and can we get say valour for trading in our units,such as 1 valour per attack or def point whichevers highest.

4)On iOS why when I get raided or attacked say 30 times or I get attacked during wd I get 1000s of notifications and can't hit them back because they get wiped off the bottom of the list.
For instance I got attacked by a few sup guys in the war around 270 times but I had 6800 notifications,it's ridiculous.

5)Can we get some different bonuses please,in clash of clans for instance which a lot of people are leaving mw for you can boost your building outputs for 24 hours for ten or 11 gold bearing in mind £70 gets you14000 gold not 1500 and it's worth around the same in game.

Also bonuses or boosts such as -50% you're building time or upgrade time or expansion time or costs once a month or ten times and then it's gone or permanent.There are thousands of different things you could do,when I look at the prizes for wd and just see attack or defence it's boring, I can beat anyone in game so attack doesn't interest me at all,you keep putting attack boosts at the top of the prizes,if you put a big defence boost in (that actually work,as mine don't) the top guys would go mad for it.

1. Can you confirm the protection that the wall gives during WD events... it used to be 50%, then it was announced that it would be 75%, but that never seemed to get implemented. Is it currently 75%
2. If I powerattack during WD, what multiple of the "normal" score am I getting
3. Can you give any insight into the WD scoring algorithm
4. What is the problem regarding addressing the concrete hack that is being exploited and very obviously sold in multiple groupme groups.

Are you ever going to fix the data usage problem?

1) Could we get the prizes shown in game like in KA & CC? So as your working on a level it shows you what the prize for that level is.
2) How about some level specific buildings like in CC (would inspire people to reach for higher levels instead of camping)
3) Please bring PVP back, will it ever come back? If the prizes were decent people would do it.
4) It's been said a lot, but how about limited time buildings that are worth building. 24 or 48 hour are preferred.
5) I wanted to second someone's opinion about building walls. Let me click on the wall I want to build and select build 10 etc. This is very cumbersome for the leaders!

With the great increase in attack stats lately, it seems a good time to introduce a new boost. We already have an alliance attack boost, it's time we had an alliance defense boost.

I always wondered why this wasn't part of the game from the beginning. I know it's a war game, but many people now feel their accounts are imbalanced to such a large degree towards attack. This is especially true for players in top 25 or higher factions.

1) Any thoughts on increasing the level limit to 400 or more? With all the events and xp earned it would make sense?
2)New gold buildings would be nice, unit and events have escalated but besides the LE buildings, we have not seen a jump in this area of the game.

What are you looking to improve in this area?
How have the number of Customer service staff per user and developer per game changed over the last 18 months?
What was the rationale behind such a disruptive game change as the last money and valor unit release?
What is planned path for the game with regard to average reward value, gold cost per reward and stat inflation?
What plans are on place to reduce the number of glitches in events, and response to when they occur?

Why recently has data usage jumped threw the roof?

This game use to take money in game to buy gold and now it's costing more just to load and play.

This is crazy, why will you not post what we pay cash for? Even Post it after event. Pop ups don't always show up and stats not listed. I have slowed down cash I give to gree and will continue to go slower if you don't post prizes. At least explain why you won't. And if it is because of mistakes that answer don't fly. If you want some more income then post these again.

What are you talking about? You hardly post any info about prizes. At the end of the day, you've been no different than the other mods. Ask a question, then then the going gets tough, you completely disappear. Then you reappear again when you want to post a topic that you won't follow through on.

Why are 90% of all boosts released these days...attack boosts?

I am sure that Raid the Boss event is generating a good amount of cash, but honestly now don't you think 2 Raid the Boss in a Cycle it's too much? We already have 3 simultaneous events, and it's getting out of control ! I don't want to talk about the good old days when we even had some days without any events. But you are pushing your luck way too much ! I think ALL the players agrees that one or maximum 2 events at the same time it's more than enough !! And I really hope that you will change this 2nd Raid Boss in the same cycle !! Thanks and looking forward for some kind of reply !

My question is the last time this type of QandA was done, why wasn't a single piece of the advice given actually implemented?

1. Can we please get accurate information, in the form of splash screens, letting players know what the prizes are for completing an event and the associated wrapper prizes? Currently splash screens rarely come up and players are getting inaccurate advertisements as to the actual rewards given. We have to crowd source information which is time consuming and frustrating. Final Prizes are known to the Devs before the event starts. This shouldn't be hard to code into splash screens.

edit: I'm not asking for a complete prize list for each event lvl. All we want is to know what the FINAL PRIZES and WRAPPER PRIZES are for an event; in a splash screen that all players can see each time they log in, not just the players who check this forum constantly for information that isn't here.

2. Similarly, can you display the stats of an awarded unit when you get it? Display these stats in the same screen that displays the unit award pop-up. Crime City had been doing this for a while and it is great.

3. Can we get an inventory sorting method? Preferably, the same thing you used in Full Assault. Just roll it out as a permanent feature.

Edit- I know this isn't a priority or a revenue generator for you, but it does exist already (in the form of Full Assault) and players have been clamoring for this feature for years (2+ since I've been playing).

4. Can we have some different bonuses than atk/def?

Stamina recovery
Valor raid increase
Valor fight increase
BP percentage increase
Upgrade time reduction

(Except for stamina, each of these has been introduced before. I would especially like an upgrade time or upgrade cost reduction.)


All of these suggestions and features exist already in the game.

1. A water le building

2. A health regenbonus at the 400 tier...(gree if you want to see a knife fight break out for this tier.....throw a prize like this in the mix at this tierl)

3. Valor bonus that is realy a valor bonus...plus one valor on raids isnt really a bonus....the percentage bonsues need helped because really 20 valor from a raid doesnt help....the raid /atta k algortihm needs to be modified to give more valor and attacks come back in style

4. FIX THE WALL PURCHASE FOR LEADERS....if it were easier for leaders to make larger walls...folks would use bigger walls...bigger walls more money for gree

5. Make a large world cup format event....where it is like march madness all over and give us handcaps like .....

6. What about a cash lending bank where large factions can lend money to small factions

Yeah but when u find these things out you might say:
" this isn't worth the units because of the upgrade time." Then u tell your faction and the no one does the event and GREE makes less money off of gold purchases for help finishing the event.
