*** I decided to say 'F it' and try a gold open with gold I got from Tapjoy. There was a huge lag before I was given the "cannot connect" message. Strangely and not unexpectedly, the 15 gold was still deducted from my total, and the $22k I just collected from my ML doubled to $44k. At this point I was not about to keep pressing the gold button because I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened. So I tapped the cash option. The same thing happened, lag then could not connect, but my cash/gold on hand didn't change. I tried a third time to open the freaking box, and finally I got... A Hitman's Sniper Rifle. Not impressed, but the box did open, and I did intentionally (this time) tap the gold option, so I can't complain. I closed the game at this point, forgetting to bank what was left of the cash I had ($4k). I went back into the game to bank that, thinking to myself at this point that I paid the 15 gold and 2x $20k, so all three attempts did cost me. After banking I decided to check the leader board and I was very surprised to see that my number of total Rims had increased by 1. Looks like I got 3 quick attempts and at least 2/3 opened, the first one (HSR), the extra Rim, and one misc. I don't know what happened with the third box, or if it even opened at all.

So being an almost "free player" since they axed the top 250 modifier has made me bored of these events.
With my drop rate getting lower and lower as each boring events passes i wonder will we ever see another PvP or robbery tournament? I doubt it which leaves me no option but to plod along with this event and hope my drop rate reaches at least 15%.

I'm only 3 rims off top 250 but I have 3 to open. I used gold once by earning all the offers and using it once but still, tough to get plenty of crates at low lvls.
I just paid with money then and failed. Hopefully 2nd time after the next hour passes would let me use 1 of my 3.
Also, gets hard to earn enough when ppl are using so much gold to speed their way through to outdo everyone.
Really, these events are getting seriously out of hand.
This morning this guy MaxXx had 222 rims collected.
Only 1.5 hours later he had 303!!!!!!!!!!!
How much money did this guy spend to get this many rims?
It seems there are enough people willing to pay a huge amount of real money in this game. The casual gamer can not cope with them and therefore will not get any of the better items.

Did anyone else notice the BLNT screen says gold opens are guaranteed to give you a rim? That explains the inflation of the top 25. No more 15 gold for $10k for you gold spenders.

Yea I'm on a pretty crap streak, just like the previous event. Before these two though, I've had pretty decent success (14+ everytime [though had 2 events in a row where I ended with 14 :(], cash option only).
