For me it's a game, I use the game and forum as a free (except gold)
form of safe, controlled entertainment. I enjoy being in control of my hobby...thus a phone or a laptop.
I like to stay inside and do a lot of things close to home due to personal schedule, work, priorities...
Substance oddly enough could be self controlled... being it's a game, my level of satisfaction is solely controlled by
my state of mind, isn't it? Isn't that the truth for most? lol
RL friends vs Virtual friends again is really your own state of mind, definition... I don't see you as a friend or a foe, simply someone I'm socializing with through this portal...
