What in the hell am I doing wrong? I made it to 9 rather quickly and have had 16 consecutive NOTHINGS since then.
Why can't I ever get 10? I am using the GOLD/Medium option EVERY SINGLE TIME.

9 Scarabs in the first 30 attempts and 2 in the last 40 attempts - I really don't think I will make it to 15.
Why don't they make the first 4 units easier to get for free players and they can still have the gem income for the top 250, top 50 and top 1 prize?

I find it very "unusual" to say a word that alot of players make it to the "magic" number of 14, 19, 23/24 and then once you get there, you "seem" to be frozen in time, 1 day no new scarab, 2 days, same situation, and goes on for about 3 days before "time" starts moving again (if lucky)
could it be, that GREEd thinks that putting players so close to the next unit, then not getting more parts will make players use GEMS to get that next scarab to achieve the unit
Some will try a couple of gems perhaps to see the units becomes theirs, others will use gems until they get the units but it seem that most will just get frustrated and just ignore the rest of the event

LOL I know I am, had my lightning bolt to 14 stuck on 14 for about a day finally got 15 and has been a steady stream of sorries ever since. No worries though, that 15 unit was a good one so it's all good
still stuck at 13.

I don't think you should feel like a complete douche.
The event does need tweaking to make it more enjoyable, without losing revenue capability for GREE.
Like I have suggested before, by all means limit the number of scarabs, etc, to encourage people to use gems for more chances to open the box (ie, reset the timer) but let the box open everytime.
My gut feel is that the more people who get past the first 5 small units, the more people there will be who will be willing to cough up some real money for a chance to get within the top 250.
<sigh> whole of yesterday only 1 scarab. Whole of today, absolutely nothing. Mainly middle option with a few rusty knives. Stuck on 14 (sound familiar?) :rolleyes:
I am sitting on two scarabs - and both were due to mis-clicks(!) as I'm sitting out the current event. (I'd won two boxes from attacking and raiding a few victi... err... opponents to test their vault sizes.) Anyone want 'em? ;)
Currently on 1 scarab.. I know the rusty knife option is meant to be low percentages.. but this is taking the biscuit! In some way its made the game more enjoyable for me not logging in every hour to open a box and getting disappointed with the inevitable outcome.
I can't believe we are all still falling for this crap. 2 and a half days and still sitting on ten. Opening every hour for 16 hours a day. Nothing but 'Gold' and 'Sorry'. What a load of crap this is.
Clearly guys there pushing us to spend cash, period! Hence you get jack all until you start spending cash. But hold on...is it worth spend $100 for a crappy 2D image that gives you a little extra points? Come on! This is getting rediculous! Wake up and realize there are better games out there where you can have more fun without wasting your money. Or, simply play without spending gems. Still, GREE are laughing at us all...all the way to the bank! Wake up people!

I just reach #25.....ALL USING A MIX OF MEDIUM AND FREE OPTIONS (my gem count stand as always at 1,223) and trying almost 22 times every day (I get up alot during the night without setting any alarms, is a medical issue that sometimes comes handy)

In theory for me to fall out of the leaderboard, there have to be 250 players reaching 26 scarabs (I hope they do not)
I believe this is a first in this kind of event, and even if I am not the first............IT IS A HELL OF AN ACCOMPLISHMENT..........last event I had to use some gems to get #25..................for this I am THERE and still will keep trying 14 more times to see if I get more...................

I'm NEVER EVER spending money on these events EVERRR again. I took advantage of the sale and got the 240 gem package. After using up 200 of them, I got exactly ONE scarab. ONE!!! (that's 9 tries, 1 timer reset) I"m trying to stay in the top 250 and thought I'd be at least a *little* closer. now I'm not so sure.
Kind of funny; yesterday I got 5 scarabs out of 8 tries with coins only. Now I get 1 out of 8 tries with gems. Totally not worth it.
Edit: good on ya Spectra. Some of my good luck must have rubbed off on you.
This past Sunday, I'd found my first--AND SECOND--4-leaf clover ever. Apparently, that "luck" stuff really IS a superstition! Who knew???

Heavy gem buying seems to have just started up as the gap between those in and out of the top 250 is suddenly widening. Watch out spectra, have your gems ready!
