I miss the times when the events required you only to get 10 and everyone had a chance at getting the top creature (without having to pay), for example getting the inferno hydra.
3 days and only 3 found. I haven't seen so many "sorry"s since McCain picked Palin. If it doesn't improve I will just start ignoring the events. I have more fun I'm MW anyway, KA just seems geared to extracting money from you. I try, but I just can't get excited over it. I can't wait to check MW and see how I've done, then when I've taken care of everything I go to KA and collect, buy and upgrade, then head back to MW.
I knew the dry spell was coming after my fast start, been stuck on 10 for a good while now.
This event is looking like the rest of the events. Here's what I've been doing.
5 opens for 24 tries. 4 scarabs and one for $15k.
12 tries gold. 12 tries free.
3 opens for gold. 2 opens for free.
This is crap! That is terrible odds. Gold at 25% success and free at 17% success.
I never realized 25% was considered "medium". Lol.
Stumbled my way to 5 last night. 1 today to get me to 6
poo - had been in the top 250 for a couple days... slipped out. Still at 10, but pretty happy about the progress this time through. :)

Same here Red. Right now main account with 7 and other account with 11. It looks like the disparity only appear when one of my account were into the top 250; maybe the leaderboard can't show if you are between 51 to 250; anybody know if this is correct?

Yeah I don't participate in these events anymore, every now and then I'll click on the free option to try to get a bonus but it's not worth spending over 2k an hour to at best get 2 units that are slightly better than the units I ownQuote:

Hi. I'm sure you've read enough of these posts to know that people are becoming increasingly unhappy with how the box events are structured. Would really appreciate it if you feedback to the powers that be in GREE so that some of this unhappiness can be addressed. No one is asking the company to make less money, but really, a little consideration for having a happy event for all players cannot be a bad thing. Please DO SOMETHING. Thanks.

Got several 15ks, 10ks and of course some of the tiny hp rewards. This may be he one time I can make a run at 20. I sure don't expect a top 250 finish but I will be ecstatic to get to 20

I'm having terrible luck after the first day. I've got a less than 33% open rate on gold option, and a less than 10% open rate with the free option. Of the very few that do open, I'm only getting gold or the occasional honor points. Only 1 scarab in over 35 open attempts. Not happy with this event at all. Seeing as how the best I can hope for is gold, I'm not wasting anymore on gold options.
And this is the exact reason I stopped--and will never again--spend gems on events. Spending real money on some ridiculously minuscule chance at a good unit is stupid when I can guarantee a decent unit through purchasing one through the store for those gems.
I also think Funzio has an obligation to publish the chances for opening with the gold or free options, especially since those odds diminish with each additional Scarab obtained. Considering people spend quite a bit of real money (I used to be one until the blatant dishonesty of these events became apparent), I do think we have a right to at least know the odds, and specifically, not the fuzzy and changing odds we're currently given. It's corrupt. And while no one is forcing us to play these events, you're effectively left in the dust if you don't participate.
These events are becoming increasingly frustrating, and I know I'm far from the only one. I hate to come off as *****ing or whining, but I'm just getting pissed off. I'm not expecting a top 50 or 250, or even the 25 or 20 prize. But it'd be nice to at least have a chance at the 10 or 15 prizes, something I haven't gotten through the gold or free option since my first event. Lame.

I know what you mean, and as you can see, I've put up a post to CCM to ask him for help to please try and resolve some of the on-going unhappiness. It really just takes some simple tweaks to the format and shouldn't have any negative impact on their revenue generation. I don't expect them to reveal exact (or even rough) figures as they will probably want to keep it "grey" in the interests of flexibility. Just make it fun for everyone (instead of frustrating for so many). Hope he will help this time round ... fingers crossed.
Eh today was rather lucky as far as opening boxes.. Not so lucky as far as scarabs.. 11 for 15 on gold opens 1 scarab 35 honor on 2 and the rest gold.. So disappointing.. I figured I had a chance after day 1 sleeping on 1 back of top 250 it's now the end of day 3 and I'm probably going to be 5 or 6 out of top 250 when I'm done tonight.

I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong. I've literally gotten 1 scarab in over 48 hours, and a few gold prizes. I'm at 6 scarabs total (got 5 the first day). Apparently once you go over 5, your odds of getting a scarab are less than 5%, least in my experience. I would chalk it up to being ridiculously unlucky, but when you advertise something as being a medium chance to open with the gold option, then intentionally decrease those odds with each successive scarab obtained, well that's false advertising, plain and simple. I understand they use the events to make a profit through gem spending, but when spending gems for guaranteed opens and getting a 90% gold or honor prize award, what's the point in spending gems? The current set up just reeks of dishonesty and manipulation.
On the plus side the gold rewards seem more plentiful, which is nice, but no one is playing to get more gold, no matter that it helps offset the gold used to open the boxes. The other side of that is that it seems after you get 5 scarabs, unless you plan on spending hundreds on gems each event, you can't even get the second (10) or third (15) unit. Congrats to those who've gotten past 10, but with 3 days left and having been stuck at 6 for over two days, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to be happy I even got the 5 unit. It's incredibly discouraging.
Hi Dirishb, you are doing better than me. I have been doing this event every hour I can manage, at 32 opens (27 odd with gold, 5 rusty), I have had 3 scarabs, 20 sorry, the balance 4k or other. I have never been so unlucky on an event. I suppose Funzio doesn't care how we feel while the 'Wildstallions' continue to throw money at these events.

I'm only doing rusty knife opens this one, having learnt my lesson about both in-game and real money opens. Spending 200,000 gold (2k gold for 100 opens) for effectively 2 units (given you can get the first with the rusty knife) is a horrible deal, even more so if luck is bad and you don't get one of them. I will add that the format of this has been fiddled with a few times before being refined in this current form, so I don't see any amount of feedback helping. As it stands, unless you want to spend $$$ for the top 50 unit, (or $$ for the top 250 unit, although they have gotten progressively worse as these events progress) you are probably best advised to put your resources elsewhere.

Word of advice...stop spending money on this event as Wildestallion will dominate it like always. There's no special unit for 2nd place, you get the same as the person who places 50.
I decided no more money anymore for these events. I'm sitting on 8 Arks with only using the middle gold option. Not worth spending real cash for this.

I've now gotten the Sorry on the past 7 boxes, with one gold win for 4k, and the previous 4 were Sorrys. Again, I haven't gotten a single Scarab in over 2 days, and open at least 15 per day. I've stopped using Rusty Knife and using gold "medium" option for the past day and a half with 2 gold wins and one honor win out of at least 25 open attempts. That's about a 12% open rate. Quite far from the supposed medium chance.
I guess I'd just like to see a bit more honesty concerning the odds. I'm not asking for exact percentage rates, but as consumers I think we have a right to know just how much the odds decrease, or at least estimates, and in what brackets. As consumers we do have a right to make informed decisions, but we're not being provided with accurate or complete information. We're told one thing, but it's simply not the case. I've been complaining about the "medium" label on the gold option for awhile. It's not medium by any means at a certain point, and Funzio keeping that label on that option even as the odds greatly decrease simply isn't right. Again, if the prizes were real cash, that'd be illegal, but due to the fact the prizes are digital game units they seem able to get away with this intentional mislabeling.
I really enjoy this game, but can't help feel taken advantage of as a consumer by that. It's the only reason I no longer spend gems on the events. Again, I don't mean to come off as whining, but I also refuse to sit by and keep quiet when something blatantly misleading is going on.

No more scarabs. I got 2 opens and got 2 2k gold
I must just have extremely bad luck. Still at 6.

You know sometimes you get more than one shot at opening a box due to network issues (usually happens with bad connection)? You click on an option and get a 'sorry' but the options don't go away and you get to click on them once more. Usually you end up with a gem/ring/helm/elixir most of the time.
It just happened to me for my last try. The funny thing was that it gave me a stunning 10 more attempts at opening the box and all of them were sorries. They finally threw me a bone with the 11th attempt for a scarab. All happened within a single minute.
It occurred to me that I really might had to try at least 10 more attempts before I could get a scarab.
I do hope they go back to the tier units (i.e. the higher levels get better units) as I am paying 2.8k per pop.
@DIrishB, Aragorn, echus14: As for the scarcity of opens and scarabs, I can understand your frustrations but that's how the cookie crumbles nowadays. The event has in reality gotten worse for non-gem players with this being the 6th iteration of the current event format. The sooner you come to terms with it, the better it will be as in all honesty I don't think anything will change. I just take my 2-3 (maybe 4, unlikely 5) indestructible units and move on.
