Stuck at 9 for past days. Open every box w blow torch but no warhead. :(

I picked up 8, 9 and 10 this morning. All cash opens, no resets and no 'round the clock gaming. So...it's doable. Good luck to all still in the hunt.
While I still like these events, if you're already a heavy gold spender these events ultimately mean absolutely nothing in the greater aspect of the game and you're much better off in getting the "sure" thing.
Once you reach a certain attack or defense ally ratio level (i.e., a score of 30 or more in regards to your attck or def divided by your ally count x 4), hardly anyone ever bothers you regardless of any bonus and you can attack pretty much anyone.
Just got my 10th warhead. :)
Wohoo, I just received my second extra ally! One more to go and maybe I get the special "grunt" unit. Still 9 on the warheads count, btw. Congrats to all that have received the grand prize.
So, I've been preaching not to get your hopes up, being fully aware of how these promos operate. As predicted, here I am, once again, sitting with 8 for the last two days and 30 straight no nuke attemts.
Question is, why am I surprised? (rhetorical and, yes, I know the definition of insanity)

I am with you Copenhagen about 2 for the last 30 2 being a grunt and some valor/ stuck on 8
Instead of reducing time, each increment is 5 instead of 3
