Was that taken at Franke Park? Because I have a pic with that EXACT gorilla- mine is a little more obnoxious, though.

I have this thing with statues... you should see the pics I took with the dinosaurs at the St. Louis Museum of Natural History! And I almost got arrested at the museum under the St. Louis Arch. I didn't realize that the guards at national monuments are so powerful! I was goofing around and almost committed a federal offense. Oops... live and learn!

Haha I bet you had a good time tho. I nearly got arrested when visiting the houses of parliament and I sat in one of the seats that only Lords may sit in, security was not impressed!!

That is the same thing I always try to do. I opened a closet during the White House tour... got in some trouble for that! In other countries, though, I feel like they make their landmarks more accessible. Chichen Itza is not just a national monument, but a religious one, and you can climb all over that place. No guards, no supervision, complete unrestricted access. If we did that in the US, there would be graffiti everywhere.
