There's just over an hour left and I was finally able to buy this LTB. I was wondering if I will still get the first prize even though the LTB will take over 30 hours to finish building and this event ends in an hour or so??

Yes, building has to be complete for 1st prize, successive upgrades give the prize at time of purchase.
