The democrats have a socialist, former USSR sympathizer and a corrupt felon running. The "super delegates" that you suggest should be the firewall against voter choice are backing the felon. Just sayin.

Also, Ted Cruz is brilliant and knows more about the constitution and its importance to protecting us from government than almost anyone alive. If you want to boil that down to "obstructionist," that's fine. It's been almost sixty years since we had a president who didn't think his own power was unlimited. Bring on the obstruction.

Yeah, some of us still think it's important. Too few, unfortunately. I figure the republic only has one generation left. Once you elect a strongman (trump) or a socialist (Obama), it's usually too late to go back. If the president really DOESN'T want to stay within the limits of his own power, there's not much anyone can do to stop him. Also, once power is seized, you can never really take it back.

I'm just wondering how it's all going to end.

The term "socialist" is thrown around pretty randomly, conveniently forgetting the truth that any form of taxation and redistribution is by definition "socialism". All of us are socialists, it's just when someone wants to take it up a notch, they get branded with the term like it's a swear word. Most people objecting to Bernie wanting to tax the 1% to pay for college conveniently forget they are advocates of taxing everybody for their own causes, be it military, ag subsidies, or whatever their pet cause is. I am not a fan of Bernie, what he suggests will never fly, any more than Trump building a wall, but let's get real here. Our whole construct is built on a version of socialism.

Cruz, and most like him, fancy themselves as constitutionists, and that is fine. Protect gun rights, free speech etc....oh, wait, anchor babies? We must amend the constitution! They are mostly people who use the constitution conveniently to prop up their causes, until they don't. Most are pure hypocrites. Cruz also tends to confuse religion with policy. That is a dangerous tonic.

And Walker has a stellar record of taking on those overpaid teachers and firefighters, busting contracts, and no job growth. He wants to ban EPA regulation on power plants, overturn gay marriage, ban abortions, thinks $7.25 is an accurate minimum wage, and wants to gut open records laws. Awesome. I agree with some of his stances, don't believe $15 is the answer to minimum wage, but this guy has way too many issues to be in charge of anything. Wisconsin is not better for having him. The Koch brothers, of course, disagree.

You do have a point on the super delegates backing a felon. It's not a perfect system. But then 17 candidates boiling down to Cruz, Trump and Rubio is not either. And if you ask most voters about all this choice, most will wonder how the hell we got here with these three, me included.

We'll watch the debate tonight and vote tomorrow (early).

There's a very strong legal argument that the 14th amendment does not confer birthright citizenship on the children of illegal immigrants, and the Supreme Court has never decided the issue. Id pay good money to listen to Ted Cruz argue the case.

Yes, I was making a joke. Trump was a birther and now he is going after Cruz. There is plenty to go after Cruz on without wasting the courts time on this nonsense. What other posts on this thread would suggest that I do not understand how that law works? Or are you suggesting that since I am no fan of Cruz I do not have the ability to understand basic citizenship laws?

He actually did speak to it, which is why I mentioned it. I am actually surprised at what I am seeing on that one, I see more Dems siding with Apple, and more Pubs siding with the Feds than I ever thought possible. Based on past behavior, I would have guessed the opposite.

I think if Apple could just unlock the one phone, 99% of the people would be for it, as it is just a simple search warrant. Since re-writing the code effects many others, it seems to be more of a 4th amendment issue. Except in China, of course, where Apple is keenly aware there is no 4th amendment over there. That and it has become their biggest market.
