Slides if there is no toe divider, flip flops if there is and never heard them referred to as thongs.

A database is a long list of information that you can arrange in different ways. You can show just part of it, or make it look pretty, but you're pulling from the original list. Some "lists of data" are done on spreadsheets, which puts all the information in little boxes across the page. ;)
