It would be nice if the was once again a reason for small factions to participate like there was in the first one...BfB.
Turns out there was no use for a small faction to play in the last one. Even worse, it was quite a disappointment spending all that money and time and sacrificing units for what turned out to be a waste, since even though in both battles the prize tiers were changed at the very last second, only the BfB stuck to the originally advertised tiers. Many thinking the same typo/error/what have you happened again for BfG they participated thinking they had a chance for similar reward by participating and expending a large amount of their resources, only to be greatly disappointed at the end.
Now that we see the cut off is officially at 4k for the next battle, at least now we know ahead of time there is no reason to waste all that again or in the future....but then we were shown before the last battle for weeks that the cut off was 10k. Turned out to appear like a classic bate and switch tactic...and it worked.
Not all who support and participate in this game are able to properly contribute to a larger faction, so many form a faction as a few close friends, a family, or what have you...some who were rewarded in the BfB for their efforts were/felt cheated by the false advertisement leading up to the BfG battle.
Knowing where they placed the last 2 battles and seeing the new advertised cut off of 4k....there is no practical reason or incentive to participate in what seems to be the main direction this game has taken.
Edit...and before any members of larger factions pipe in saying how their llp's in their factions easily gain 1000's of wd's....that is very easy to do when you have a high level player knock out the head guy, otherwise you are stuck chipping away at their wall for 20-40 points a whack...or none at all waiting for the next battle. The poor matching system doesn't help any in this regard either.
