I was very annoyed when shawshank redemption was censored on TV last weekend.

just depends on which channel it is. If it's a cable network and not a paid for channel like the movie channels (HBO, Showtime, ect.) and it's being shown before 9pm then yeah chance for language beep or editing can almost be expected to happen. But yeah the censoring seems to have gotten worse with some wanting more of a nanny state of the central government stepping on everyone's toes on what they can see own or do.Quote:

In tide water virginia where I used to live there was a big thing to get weapons out of schools. So a 8 year old girl got suspended for two weeks for having a plastic knife utensil in her lunch. I forget what movie was on the other day, but someone used a non-vulgar word in a vulgar way, and it was censored out. I think it was something like "pie", I don't remember exactly since it was inaudible, but it was a regular non-vulgar word. The way in which it was used was inappropriate I guess?
That's not even a language censor, that's censoring slang and anything else they feel like. Next thing you know, made up words that aren't real words but are used to replace "curse words" will be censored. What the shizznit? Or soon to be "what the ********?"
