Just found an article, which discusses the following topic: what are trip hop best songs. Trip hop is an electronic music style, if this term is unfamiliar to you.

I scrolled through this article and decided that I’d like to share my thoughts about it in here. Namely about trip hop songs, since I’m a big fan of them.

The article lists Massive Attack’s „Unfinished Sympathy“, which is a song that I’ve probably listened to at least hundreds of times. I instantly fell in love with their creative and rather simplistic music video. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest that you definitely go to youtube and check it out. Unique.

The music on „Unfinished Sympathy“ is famous for its epic background strings, which were recorded in a legendary Abbey Road Studios, in London. Air, a French band, is one other chillout band who has recorded some of their strings in this historic studio.

The second tune that I noticed in this article, was Massive Attack’s „Teardrop“, which is featured on their album „Mezzanine“. I totally agree that it is one of the trip hop best songs. It is constructed partly on a hypnotic drum groove and harph playing. The music video of this trip hop song tells a story of an unborn baby, who is in the womb. TV Series have used this track worldwide for its movie-like style.

From Massive Attack’s album „Mezzanine“ one can also find a tune called „Inertia Creeps“. I enjoy the deep vocals, that have been married with Middle-Eastern drumming. This evokes a powerful atmosphere. Other compositions sound occasionally even quite similar to the forementioned Air, and Zero 7, with their soothing and breathy arrangements. They provide the same kind of somber music that is suitable for daydreaming.

Besides those two songs mentioned here, the article suggests more tip hop best songs. Those were just the ones that I had listened to previously.
