Pushing an update without a users permission would violate Apple terms.

They can make event non playable until they do download

What I think he means is for the game to block people from playing if their version is out of date.. Yes gree are capable of doing that and they do do it for major version releases..

Ie when your game starts, it throws an error message saying that you need to download the latest version

Indeed, I wonder how many android players stats will now suffer too as iOS helped them in all faction events too but they seem to forget this.

Still a difference between a faction unit
or
A faction unit, a solo unit and a wrapper unit.

In the past an Android could get all 3 and now 1, because of faction members going to the airport.

Where android users are unable to fly, they can just sit in the waiting room and watch videos though, then just fly for free :)
