Expansion Costs?

I have been expanding my base for what seems like forever and for awhile now, each additional land expansion has cost an additional $10m from the previous one. My last expansion was $900m, the one before was $890 and before that it was $880m. Does it stay like this throughout or does each new land start to increase incrementally (i.e $15-$20m more)?

If I remember correctly the last expansion cost me 3 billion or so, so it does go up, couldn't give you the numbers.

What do you do with the spare space? I've been expanding for a while....

...I just don't know what to fill the void with. -_-

Fill some with base art (barrels, trees etc.)...use the extra space for rearranging buildings....exercise my avatar by running around...
