Why is "Free Gems" still broken??

I know GREE is not under any obligation to provide us with free gems for this game, however when they give me a Free Gems button, and a Free Gems screen, I have a reasonable expectation that the darn thing should work.

have you tried tapping on the "Offers" tab, closing the window, and then try the "Video Offers" tab? Usually works for me, and I have to do that everytime I use the VPN.

I've also tried repeatedly hitting the Video Offers tab; you can do that 28 times before it logs you out. ;)

I am running on Android, and had something similar happen. I would watch a video and wait for gems to arrive but would get nothing. To fix this, I would watch another video and then go to the main screen. Once I get back to that screen the rewards would appear for me.

No no...that's how it used to work. During one of the recent automatic updates after 7/11, it stopped playing videos. I click the video button, the screen goes to black--as if it's going to start a video--but no, it returns to the buttons screen, as if I never pushed the Video button in the first place.

(Sometimes, if I'm especially bored, I'll try that "push button 28 times" thing. Twice now, I've gotten a video. Two times...period. Out of nearly 100 button pushes.) It. Is. Broken. :(

i remember the days (its happend 2-3 times) where i got over 100 gems off of free gem video button. it was pretty boring watching a bingo video 100 times, so i watched myth busters, and clicked free gem every few minutes.

and yes, click it about 10 times, you'll usually get at least one, i never get a video the first click, its usually around 5-6 clicks in.

Today's clicks:

1st try: 5-6 clicks in = video (hurray!)
2nd try: 30 clicks = detached from game
3rd try: 29 clicks = detached from game
4th try: 28 clicks = detached from game.

I remember there used to be a message screen to tell you when there were no more videos to watch. It looked like this:

That screen is conspicuously absent. I understand it is GREE's prerogative to offer free gems for watching videos, and that they can stop doing this at any time. But IF GREE keeps posting buttons that say "FREE GEMS!" they'd darn well better offer them, or they are engaging in false advertising. Just sayin' is all...

My gem button is still missing. .sent a ticket to Gree. .they said I had reached my free gem limit. But every one else in my guild is getting gems...more than I did...ever since the rewards for raid came out is when my button went missing

Is the issue that it doesn't give you videos/ offers to complete or that it doesn't send you your rewards? I started a new game recently and was able to get all kinds of videos (avg 15) but when I switched my main to the device I had my second on I still haven't seen but two videos and MAYBE 2 or 3offers for downloading a game, maybe it's a high level thing? Just a thought

WHEN it shows me a video, I always get a gem for watching. The trick has been getting any videos to watch. In the past, when you reached the limit, there would be a pop-up screen saying there were no more videos at this time...now there is no pop up, and no videos either... :(

Yeah that's the message I get on my main, I'll get just one video now and then, but my second wad getting them pretty consistently until I put it on my older phone which is what I though was the problem before, but man was I ever wrong. Now neither of them get videos an my main gets "no offers available" under the offers button, but on the older phone I have all kinds of offers that it isn't comparable, so go figure, lol

well when you give away thousands because your development team keeps screwing up you cant afford to give away gems they have cut everything back the rewards and the gems.since the lockout i may have recieved a dozen as opposed to the 30 to fifty prior to them having to comp half of their players..honestly if this were nascar or any other sponcered game all of them would have stepped out by now..

I don't have any problems with the video offers. its true that you don't receive as much gems any more but 50 a week is still a nice amount to have. granted I would like the 100 a week back but you cannot complain about something that is free

New 1.11.3 update did not fix video issue.

Today's attempts:

* 1st = 5 clicks = 1 video
* 2nd = 10 clicks = detached from game
* 3rd = 36 clicks = detached from game

The "that's all the videos for today" screen has NOT made a return either. What gives, GREE? :(

EDIT: When I came back to the game on #3 and #4, I got 1 free gem, as if I had watched a video, however all my Guild notifications were wiped out to four days ago (and the game told me our Guild was upgrading to a level we already had). I therefore do NOT recommend this method to get gems, as I don't know what else goes missing (armor upgrades, for instance).

i play criminal legacy and i watch videos as soon as i get new ones for what little videos it allows me then my whole free gem button completely disappears after like 6-8 videos and i cant even access the offers tab. I sent them a support ticket and it said that this could likely be due to a few gem limit but i thought that should mean that i would see the message saying no more video offers for today and still be able to access the offers button on the right but instead my whole free gems button is completely gone from all the sections including the accessories, diamonds/cash tab, etc. it doesnt even show that i am allowed to get any more free gems ffs.

Far be it from me to not applaud when something works. Tonight, I experienced the following:

* 1st attempt: 4 videos! then detached from the game
* 2nd attempt: 1 video, then detached.
* 3rd attempt: 1 video, then detached.

@Sxe: it's not "just" me. This thread is dedicated to the others on my team who have had the same problem for more than two weeks now.


In any event, something seems to have changed:

1st attempt: 4 videos, system sputtered on the 5th
2nd attempt: Clicked 33 times, no video, detached from game

So I got 5 videos/free gems today, more or less painlessly. Still not fixed, but a huge improvement. THANKS, GREE! ;)

Yep, definitely happens to more people. Happens to myself and a lot of people in my guild. It's random too. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes its not. The only thing I can think of if its not a bug is they are using a 3rd party to allow an advertiser to decide whether or not to purchase the ad for you based on their demographic profile of you and you are getting "rejected" when it goes to check.

its not hard, you just open the app, you usually get about 3-5 hours free a day, and click what country you want your connection to look like. at least try it out to test your gem buttons.

If you mean VPN, very simple: their advertisers prefer their ad videos to be geographically targeted. If Gree openly said "hey, VPN all you want", then fewer advertisers would put up their videos (or pay less per video), since they would know that the buy/install rate from viewers would be even lower than without VPN...

I've read somewhere on the Modern War forum that GREE's contract with the ad company (TapJoy) ended and GREE was looking for a new one. Maybe this is why the problems with video offers occur.

Also, there is a lot of speculation that people used some weird programs to automatically watch UNLIMITED video offers. It was actually possible to go to sleep and wake up with 500 more gems. That is probably the reason why GREE has put a limit on video offers.

for me free videos works "fine" on my phone (though I can't return back to the game from the post-video screen and have to tap the KnD icon again from the list of installed apps on most videos...) while on my tablet, first press of video offers brings a "we are experiencing technical difficulties" popup after about 30 sec, next press gives a video, but unless it's one with the "get it now" button on the post-video screen (which directoly links to playstore on tapping it, unlike the "free" etc. buttons that open a browser), I won't be paid a gem for watching the video. So on my tablet, 95% of the videos give Gree profit and me nothing. On my tablet "offers" also times out after a few minutes of loading.

First couple taps gives me a couple of blackouts and the screen that says there are no current videos to watch. However consistent tapping (just 1-2 more) gives me a steady stream of eight videos (with 8 gems). After eight, it's back to rolling blackouts.

Friend of mine finally, after a lot of tickets, got a answer from GREE why his "free gem button" is gone. They said this:
"Your account is under investigation due to suspicious free gem activity. The time of return of the free gem option varies between people."

Well that's helpful to know. I should ask why:

* my videos vary with the day (button still there)
* sometimes I now get the "no more videos" screen, BUT IF I PERSIST, there might be as many as 8 free videos behind it
* sometimes my game detaches from the system without explanation

Guess I'll leave this thread up with "still broken" status, with the caveat that it worked for two weeks; I was receiving about 8 gems a day, which was a return to normal for me at least. Now, "your mileage may vary". :( :( :(

between 3-6 gems for me per day, however me sometimes i click free gems the thinking circle comes on then it flashes back to the free gem page. but at the end of the day i always get 3-6 free gems. even before the issue it was 3-6 gems a day. 9 months ago (and prior) with VPN it could have been between 200-400 gems a week (including a few rare 100 gem/days) but Gree fixed that.

Between all the free gems, the epic boss free gems, the arena free gems, the free chest keys that randomly give you gems and the leveling up free gem, now i get 75-100 free gems a week. that is as good as you can do if you don't want to buy gems.

2. In regards to the vanishing "Get Free Gems" button. This is intended functionality and operating as it should, the system isn't broken. The button only vanishes in rare and unique cases. The button will return eventually, but that time will vary from player-to-player.

Why, I believe the question is why did they disappear. What are these "rare and unique" cases? It seems to me many people are missing the button, so it really isn't very rare or unique.

It's now been stated that VPN usage--for the sole purpose of getting extra gems--is a no no.

But I'd like MY gems to return to full normalcy. I've never used VPN, never had my button disappear, and I've documented in pictures on this thread exactly what MY free gems problem is. I am for the most part getting 8 gems per day, but the system still has glitches that speak to a functionality issue. :)

that's just silly. They seem to have various systems in place for videos, so I doubt that ticket from "offers" (not videos) will end up at the correct one.

- after the video there is a green "get it now" button to the right of an image, which directly gets me to the google playstore entry for that app

I have the dissapearing button too. How exactly is this working "as intended". I get the button every few days or even weeks and when I do, I watch maybe 3 videos and it vanishes again. How exactly is this a unique situation where I know people who non stop watch videos and get 100+ a day and there button never goes missing.

It is not VPN driven. It either is related to the specific user or to the specific device the person is using.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) and the ads do not work.

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and the ads do work.


The whole issue seems to be related to the fact that Gree added a new video wrapper recently. Some ads are delivered differently, as you've probably noticed. Since two updates ago, some ads have a little timer in the bottom corner instead of a progress bar across the bottom of the screen. Someone must have figured out how to skip to the end of the video and still get rewarded, so they tried to swap the timer. The problem is, the new method doesn't work with basically 30% or more of all devices out there.

Sometimes you will get ads because sometimes the ads are loaded under a different delivery vehicle.

I submitted this multiple times and most have been closed immediately with an email saying it wasn't Gree's problem and to STFU. The last time I submitted it I was told it was sent to a "specialist" but have not heard back.

that's just silly. They seem to have various systems in place for videos, so I doubt that ticket from "offers" (not videos) will end up at the correct one.

videos that give gems on my tablet:
- after the video there is a green "get it now" button to the right of an image, which directly gets me to the google playstore entry for that app

videos that don't give gems on my tablet:
- after the video there is a button listing things like "free" below an image, which wants to start a browser to pass through an ad tracking site before getting me to the google playstore entry for that app

Which screen you see at the end is related to the delivery vehicle as well.

Same! In the last 2 days I have watched about 15 free video's and only been rewarded 2 gems. They simply never show up. This is frustrating, as someone who buy a lot of gems, the 40 or so freebies I can get weekly from video's were a nice supplement. I never had issues with this game until the latest update :/

I'm owed over 40 gems at this point by Gree.

So I've narrowed it down to this. The videos that have a small circle in the bottom left hand corner that counts down the seconds on the video don't give me the gems. The ones that don't have that timer DOES give me gems.. I've tried opening a support ticket with fyber and they were quick to close my ticket with no resolution..

Anyone had this issue before? I've got bunch of videos, can watch them "forever" but I never receive a reward. There is no screen with "You will be paid soon" or somthing like that, when I finish doing it. Most of people in our guild have the same problem.

Yesterday, out of the blue, I got 30 videos/gems back to back. I have no idea what triggered this kind of error, but may o may it please continue!

I opened a ticket within the game and they got back to me pretty quickly on this issue...however I still am not getting gems from the videos and they closed the ticket.

If an issue isn't fixed, and a ticket gets closed, I typically either PM someone on staff or reopen the ticket (or both).

For a couple months now i get 0-6 clips a day, mostly 2-3 a day. An vpn has worked twice in the past two months for UK and USA for a wopping 4 extra gems.

You'll get an automated answer back containing something about reaching the maximum cap of video offers and the time it re-appears vary from people to people...

Some weeks ago, I found a screenshot of a reply from customer support somewhere that people without "Free gem Buttons" are under investigation due to exploiting this option.

We have found solution for not getting rewards when you ending watch your videos.

Simple as that: Go to settings -> Display -> Click on Auto-rotate screen, it must be enabled. Tadam! **** the video button and enjoy free gems again.

The whole system has a problems with screen stabilization. When it's disabled the game doesn't recognize that the video is playing, it's like you still would be into the game. Propably it helps them to avoid some glitches.

The most important is the fact it works! :)

Yes there are plenty of people expirencing the same thing, finally heard back from gree on itafter a week, said they are working on it, take it for what it's worth. There was a post in this threading saying turning on auto rotation on helps get gems for videos watched though

The missing button is part of a system in place to try and keep people from abusing free gems

I usually get two gems after two videos. It's nearly always been that way for me...not sure why the system works that way.

Heard from a player using both a phone and an iPad: they got plenty of videos/gems on iPad, but none on the iPhone. Weird.

Well from what I'm hearing after this "maintenance update" today it won't matter. At first I dismissed the rumor but now I've heard from different sources that the free gems are going to disappear after this update. Still a rumor so we will see.

I was having the same problem, but thanks to someone else, I discovered that if you switch your phone's screen rotation (flip) on, the videos work and pay out gems, just like before.
Weird huh?
So try that and it should fix it for you.

I didn't turn auto-rotation on (mine's locked), and I got 18 gems last night. Definitely not the norm, but gratefully received! ;)

Since the latets Android-update (4.4.3 or 4.4.4) i have some videos showing only small in landscape mode. This is really a third-party bug.

Update: Broken this morning, whether locked or on rotation...each video plays for 3-5 seconds then vanishes...no gems. :(

EDIT: I have purposefully NOT gotten the IOS 8 update as so many have complained about it...could this be the issue now?
