Raid boss - in a row question

So question: when on the in a row section, can we summon lower bosses for wrapper in the middle of the "in a row"? Without going backward. (And yes, we will beat the in a row boss, it's more an issue of mixing and not going backward)

We haven't tried it before so wondering what you have experienced.
