Gem/gold costs are too high. Free gold/gems are nearly impossible to get, because the video advertisements almost never show up, and the links we're sent to are at best shady, and at worst borderline illegal.

Instead, I propose this. Gree has a regular online blog/newsletter on their main page that I bet 1% of the people here know exists. It's actually pretty cool. It spotlights different employees and departments within the company and how they do what they do. It shows art concepts for their games. It discusses upcoming changes and projects the company is working on. Here is the most recent edition to give you an example:

Pretty cool, right? Something that people who are really into these games would enjoy reading. Instead of sending us to spam/goat porn/garbage sites in the hopes of a free gem or two, how about Gree gives out the option to have the newsletter sent directly to your e-mail address. If it is the address you signed up for one or more of their games with, Gree will send out free gift packages to your accounts when a new newsletter comes out. Say, a couple of health/energy regen potions to your account in KA, a stack of gold to your account in MW, a new weapon to your account in CC, etc.

Gree could advertise whatever they feel like within their newsletter...their current games, new games, products from "their partners" if they felt so inclined. They would certainly reach more people that way, and providing direct links to what they are marketing would generate them plenty of ad revenue while keeping them responsible for the contents of the sites or games they advertise...no more shady companies, scams, or spyware. And Gree would look like less of a soulless corporate black hole of hate, because the newsletter actually humanize the place and the people working there.

It could keep players who don't visit these forums updated on future events, glitches, etc. It could let the rest of Gree players know this forum even EXISTS, because only a small portion of players visit here. It could list war rankings for each game on a regular basis. It could be useful, and informative, give free advertising for Gree and free rewards for your players who choose to sign up for it.

What do you think, Tadaaah? Other players? Seems like a reasonable solution to several lingering problems, and it would be incredibly simple to implement. Share your thoughts, please.

I'm going to cross-post this in both the Kingdom Age and Modern War forums because I would like to hear the opinions of two different sets of gamers. If Tadaaah wishes to delete one of them, I understand.

I'd really like some feedback from other players about the idea. I'm pretty fond of the concept, and I like the possibilities of what it could mean for the community and the games. :)

That's a really long post!

Gree should get companies to advertise as a splash screen & use the money to reduce the expense of the cost of gold. They could also offer up incentives for the players that buy occasionally by 2 for deals on 240 gold.

The problem is they have targets to exceed just like any business and can't always do what's right for the customer without the bottom line looking bad.

We can only hope though!

Personally I think they should do some type of rewards program..50 free gold after you bought 500, 100 after you bought 1000, etc..etc...so that you don't start over each time.. so eventually when you've bought 20,000 gold.. maybe you get an extra 2000...something like that.

Obviously it's slightly away from the "free gold thoughts"..just thought it might be a good way to reward loyal customers...especially the ones that spend alot of money.. sorry if I highjacked a bit.

I think he's saying an ongoing tally of gold spent to reach reward tiers, not just spend $500 in a single month. it would be on going.

But, I like the idea of the newsletter, it would be an incredible asset for keeping up to date on the latest events, prize lists, event standings/results, etc.

Great idea Avatar!
