Ok , I need help , maybe a large write . I am told by gree this a problem but nothing has been done .
My big account has a 180 attack weapon plus 200 bonus attack points for a 380 min attack . I consistently cause under 380 damage . This means my skill points plus what ever attack the shield has is not being calculated at all. My low is 363 , my high is 496 .
My other account has a 102 attack sword with no bonuses .
His low is 232 his high is 299.
I am not questioning the way gree calculates damage , I just want the bonuses I earned to be counted properly .
Btw: my shield is 74 and my skill points are 251 on the big account .
So I figure ny damage is too low by at least 50 points .
Please set me straight if I am wrong
Thanks to all players who respond

I am not sure what you mean by shield. Both hero weapon and armour has both a attack and defence value.
How they calculate damage done, I once thought the similar adding things up, but that never worked out. I have never been able to confirm this, but I believe all mobs have a defence value of there own, but what it is per critter I have no clue.
So i will guess(as I have done for myself) the critters defence value comes into play when we attack it, and there defence value is deducted from what our attack would have been.
But as I said this is just a guess.

Your 200 bonus attack points have nothing in common with pve. It's being added to your attack skill points (used in pvp) - not to hero strength points (used in pve).

Really ?? I never had that impression . I always thought the xtra attack points ( such as the 100 we got with Cupid's bow) were pve bonuses . In that case I am more annoyed as I have lost PvP attacks to players 5.5 to 6 million lower.
Thanks for the info !!!! If gree would have just said this in their response to my ticket that would have been nice

5.5-6 million lower. Well that depends on what your stats are.
You can always lose a fight to someone lower if you fall into that 20% difference range. To be on the safe side, when attacking I always make sure I am 25% higher than their defense. So if my attack is 20 million then I only attack players that are 15 million or less.

My attack at the time was 78 mil( 83.5 now ). It was GG during battle , so I had no choice.
Thanks for the response .

For the record, I don't believe that anywhere is it stated that the minimum damage you do is the sum of any of your stats. Yes, the more your stats, weapon, armor, etc. go up, the more damage you'll average, but there's no 1:1 minimum, nor is it even the same from mob to mob you battle. I'd say it's fairer to say that the maximum damage you can inflict is always less than the sum of your weapon & armor attack stats plus your hero strength.

(Hero Strength + weapon attack)x.8 with a fluctuating modifier of about 20% for pve

I believe it takes your armor attack into consideration too right? I was under the impression Hero Strength + Weapon Attack + Armor attack was your maximum. That seems to have been pretty consistent for me.

New update :
Player 1
180 plus 74 plus 200 bonus plus 260 skill points
High attack is 490 ( down from 496 a few months ago); low attack 368
Player 2
102 plus 74 plus 195 skill points
High attack 302 ; low attack 226
So my high player is getting screwed , he has higher everything and the bonus but damage inflicted not not reflect this

As gree makes more changes, I am starting to see a trend, and think it applies here too.
The game mechanics on this are outdated and still fully based on the code from before gree took over.
They need to tweek it or rewrite it.

What? Are you saying you had a mod tell you that the attack skill points "affects both PvP and PvE attack?"
Who was it and where/when did they say this?

Over a year ago when this forum was still active, we had the same discussion. Not then, nor later have I seen a conclusive formula on how to calculate the damage in PvE. Check this old thread to see what was written then. http://forums.gree.net/showthread.php?69129-Question-about-Hero-Strength
