The other thread seems quite long about Data Usage Complaints - so I wanted to start a fresh thread about some solutions or work-a rounds to help you cut back on your data suck until this issue is truly resolved.

Timers ! Timers ! Timers !

If you set timers for the raid boss - then Only open the game when you know your energy is full for a PA and you won't waste the 37 seconds of opening the game and all the data suck in the background that happens just to open the game and see if you're ready to drop your hits :)

When you collect your 12 hour buildings - set a 12 hour timer and check the timer before you open the game - if collection time is in another 47 mins - then wait until then to open the game. Same goes for 24 hours timers :)

Timers ! Timers ! Timers !

I like an app called "alarmed" - multiple timers - different sound per timer - allows me to keep tabs on my game from outside my game - knowing that I only need to open it when I have a task to do vs opening the game to see if there IS anything to do

It doesn't cost me any data to check a timer :)

Timers also help your faction burn through those Bosses faster when 30 to 40 people of your 60 get their PA hits in every hour - vs - only 12-15 players remembering to drop their hits

I hope others will chime in with other Creative and POSITIVE ways to cut back on data usage.

Negative Nancies and trolls please stay away :)

Another fix went out for the data surge. Please let us know if this is still occurring. Thanks.

Verizon / AT&T don't offer unlimited data plans

the old plans from 3-5 years ago that were unlimited have been phased out during any device upgrades

unless you can recommend a provider in the US that offers it ?

You might wish to look into a MiFi plan offered by Clear (which was recently subsumed by Sprint).
You'll need one of their MiFi devices, and their plan is about $50.00/month.
It is REALLY unlimited.
I've used it from Bangor, ME to Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN to Brownsville, TX and all points in between.
It is never throttled back, and performs well, so much so that the MiFi device can support up to eight other devices (tablet, laptop, phablet, smartphone, etc...)

This is a link to their website:

http://www.clear.com/

It is the best $50/month that I spend.
They have two plans, one for $40/month, one for $55/month.
You aren't tied into any contract, and you can use it for three months, turn it off, and turn it back on for four months.
Its truly a pay as you go plan.

Solution: Use the infamous AIRPLANE :p

No data being used!

Timers ingame keep running (buildings, health bar for RB/WD/EB).

Only thing to worry is Gree might be thinking your glitching :(

I turned off data for the MW app, no more problems. I only turn it on when i don't have a wifi source and i need to collect buildings, get my hits in, etc...

I was afraid of this - all Wireless companies have figured out that their biggest profit can be in Data overages. Verizon's highest data plan is 80 gig and thanks to MW - I used 92 gig last month while moving and playing between 2 houses.

Thanks Gree for another tick in the "Win" column - errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I mean - "I got screwed column" :-(

For us Android users MultiTimer is a good one to use that let's you set up to 30 timers and different tones for each one.

They have a free and a paid (no ad) version.

One little quirk about this one is that when it gets installed it is installed as "Tom's MultiTimer", so avoid the trouble of finding it the first time.

Just found some "grandfathered" Unlimited Data contracts for sale on Craigslist. Might be worth it to check for them in your local listing. AT&T plans were there also :)

I don't see the extreme data usage some of you see. I used 6.2 GB last month and im on and off of MW for about 18 hours a day. Never switch data off and only use wifi at home. i'm away from home about 12 hours a day. Using a Verizon unlimted data plan.

Clear does offer unlimited plans as long as you bring your own device. Yes, Sprint is the supplier. Devices can be obtained through numerous genuine establishments. They are all pay as you go, no contract required. You need only pay for 30 days when you activate the device. Amazon sells the devices, other etailers, too, as do big box retailers.

I don't experience it, but am told by others they are experiencing high data rate burn.

1.5 MB in 4 minutes. Did one raid and collected buildings. Seems a bit high.

Although, seems lower than it had been. I noticed the data seemed to spike the most if I checked my faction (chat for example) but still burned a lot if I just collected (a lot more than 1mb). I'll check it later tomorrow on my iPad.

92GB bro? Seems excessive and I don't believe that someone could rack up 92Gb of mobile data playing MW.

I have an 8GB plan with verizon and use an iPhone 5 basic model. I use it as a hotspot, have GM, line, and palringo. I also play 2 other gree games aside from MW and haven't even gotten the "warning" message. What could you possible be doing to amass 92GB of mobile data?

92 gigs in one month! Wow wtf! thats a **** load.. ive opened and closed groupme, modern war and beyond the dead constantly for war but never come close to 92 gb. Factor in my porn, my emails, facebook and twitter and the most i did was 10 gbs. It was a crazy busy month for me.. how the **** do you do 92 gbs?

Is that including constant streaming of videos, radio and other crap? That's gotta be in the top tiers of useage anywhere MCdoc

Mobile data usage since the 14th of june MW 355MB

Is it down to the persons location that seems to be causing this problem? (No i cant imagin why but hey its gree so might as well have a guess)

The data usage at Android seem to be lowered. Still takes some data but not 200MB a day anymore with only collecting and hitting a boss.
