View Full Version : Can the 5k Gem event start at the same time as Chest events or Guild War Events

I haven't seen this posted yet. But I'm a bit miffed that I spent 1600 gems before the event started. A heads up would of been nice. But due to what I'm guessing is a last minute decision you are now out 300+ US from me anyway because there is no way I'm buying 6k gems in one go.

I actually like the event as its a great way to get competitive epics if you are not running top 10 every two weeks. So anyway with the rant done all I have to say is use some common sense and set the timer at the same time you release chests and guild wars.

Hear, hear! Even the little guy who spent 70 gems in the opening day of the war would be pissed to see he could have gotten a prize at the 50 mark, if only he'd waited...

Of course, the cynic in me says the delay was entirely on purpose. Help me squash my inner cynic by notifying us next time round! ;)

Naive kids. Have you thought for one second that GREE knows its customers spending habit and has responded with the absolute spot on techniques to boost their revenue? Props to GREE really. It's a really smart move.

Not smart enough.

Didn't change my spending habits.

This happened during the last 3-day war if you remember. Gree spaces everything out to maximize their profit and our frustration. For this last war, we had the new chest, then two flash sales (one was a two-hour event, which was weird), then the start of the war, then the 5k, and then a long 30% off sale. Nothing ever aligns correctly for us, but it somehow works out for them.

Yep, this is pretty spot on; at least from my experience.

Yeah. Spend 400-1200 on chest...OH FLASH SALE, buys 1800 more...time for war, we need a big push at the beginning, drops 400 gems in first war. ****, not big enough lead, drops 300 on second war....GEM EVENT!!! Buys 3 more rainbow packs (at 30% instead of 40% off) to get the 5k. Hit's his guilds minimum early but needs to get that 5k epic +, so spends an extra 2k gems on war/chest just to get to 5k..........4 days later, you've bought 4 rainbow packs at 30%, when you only meant to buy 1 at 40% (and spread those gems out over two wars), and to top it all off, you have no gems left, so next war, you have to buy more gems all over again...but you got that war epic+ AND a nice new top 10 war epic, plus whatever you pulled from chest, so it FEELS like you won.

Viscious cycle for those who do not have the self control to not spend gems on every single thing that is possible. They do a fantastic job of spreading out their events and timing of things to maximize profits.
