I am sure this has been discussed before however...I would like to know the current consensus regarding their value. Does anybody still buy these? They are a 24hr cycle, so pretty unrobbable (with timers), and relatively good payout. What are your thoughts?

It's still a good building, but the build time is horrendous. Build one and should the day come when Gree skips a cycle for a ltd then upgrade, so long as NCs are maxed. It's also hard to justify 500 gold for that little of income right off.

It's one of the buildings that cost gold right? Not worth it at all. Plenty of opportunities to grow IPH with LTBs and nightclubs.

500 gold each, 5 minute build time, upgrade times are the same length as casino upgrades but cost less per upgrade.

Utilized properly, long upgrades are actually a good thing. If you take an LTB as far as you're willing to go, doing one long upgrade between LTBs is often cheaper than doing several quick upgrades. This allows you to save some cash for future needs while still having something upgrading.

It.s not worth 500 gold.. but it is a cool looking building.

If I didn't already have them I would pay 500 gold each for them just because I like the long upgrades.

It might be a decent idea to earn some free gold to make them cheaper. I got both of my PHs using free/earned gold.

lets face it, those things arent gonna get much upgrading with ltbs coming as frequent as they do. but they are pimp. you see those in a hood and you automatically think, a pimp lives in this hood.

It's not about getting a lot of upgrades on them, it's about being able to upgrade them over a long period of time. Once you've upgraded the Palm Hotel to level 10 you've spent less than $12 billion without any upgrade cost mods. The upgrades might take a long time, but that actually gives you the luxury of being able to save cash and not have to worry about what you can afford to upgrade, at times for several days.

(https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AgEHrvnoijXudHFVU2RxYUQzYXYtOURRd0d3M1hVR2c&type=view&gid=1&f=true&colid0=1&filterstr0=Palm%20Hotel&sortcolid=-1&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250)

Hypothetical situation, you reach a point on an LTB where you can't afford the next upgrade. There is time left on the event clock, war weekend has yet to arrive, you have some cash available that hasn't been donated to your syndicate. Your upgrade options are several short, expensive LTB upgrades, or one long upgrade costing close to the amount of one LTB upgrade.

Do you:

A) Go for broke, and go (game cash) broke, upgrading as many LTBs as you can afford, even though this leaves little or no cash reserve for future needs?

B) Start a long upgrade that won't increase your IPH as rapidly, but will allow you to prepare for future game cash needs without having to worry about building upgrades?

This is bordering on the discussion of why multiple building upgrades isn't as useful a mod as many believe it is, but that should be left for a separate thread.

When I take a LTB as far as I'm willing I will upgrade another LTB that cost no more than the money I spend than the money I earned during that time.

Example: $31M/hr with collection rate of 85%. If I upgrade a level 6 taking 52 hours. I don't want to spend more than $1.37B on the upgrade. I maximize by going for the greatest iph increase.
