Hello KA community
It is time for a change in KA.
This past weekend should be a final straw that things need to change. We as players can not let things continue as they have, however we must also hold Gree accountable as well. As players we need to make things better for all and not just ourselves otherwise this game will surely die. We play this game because we enjoy at least some aspect of it....
We all know that for some time there has been flaws. Everything has some flaws but these flaws usually go by the waist side with little to nothing done. With roughly nine hours to go in this last war a hacker showed Gree a flaw with their game, and even with them being so obvious it appeared nothing was being done about it. Couple hours later, a second guild with multiple hackers made an appearance and at first again nothing seemed to be done about it. At this point instead of dealing with Gree, the idea was put forth to go after Gree's money instead and demand refunds from iTunes. It would seem that iTunes agreed and began giving refunds to KA players. Gree then stepped up and removed those obvious hackers and claims to have solved the problem.
However, the problem is not solved. Gree removed the obvious hackers but continues to let the less obvious go that many know are still in the KA community. The issues though run deeper in that us players have to deal with a customer service that really doesn't care about us. How many of you have sent tickets that were either ignored or never resolved? Personally I stopped counting after ten.
We as players and the ones keeping this going by giving them money need to demand more out of Gree. The idea that we don't matter as long as we keep giving money needs to change. Gree won't do that on their own, so we need to make Gree stand up and be accountable.

Maybe it's just me being old and not understanding the issue, and I may have an unpopular view. For the last few months I've read forum posts and listen to "Gree sucks" complaints. The last time I checked we live in a free society, and I served in the military to protect our everyday freedoms, that includes freedom of choice, and the right of a business to serve its customers.
As far as the freedom of choice goes, EVERYONE has chosen to play this game, chosen to purchase or not purchase gems. And YOU HAVE DECIDED how much time you chose to spend in the game. For those that don't want to play then don't, why complain about how much time or money you are choosing to spend in this game. If you are unhappy with the game then don't play. Or here is a crazy thought, put your phone or iPad down, enjoy some family events or other RL events, and then come back when you feel you want to play and have time in your day?
We all live in a free society that allows businesses to create a market that people want to spend their money. The customers of KA (all of us), pay for the servers that host the game, pay for salaries of the people that are developing and maintaining the game. If they do it poorly then think about the store you avoid because you don't like "it" for whatever reason, why do you avoid that store and don't spend your money, do you complain about them about how they run their business? Or do you just avoid it? Why not do they same with Gree?
I certainly hope Gree handles all of those that truly are cheating the rest of us harshly, unfortunately in the world we live in today I doubt it will work. The people that did the hacking to "prove a point" are the ones that don't get it. Their selfishness will be the ones that ruin the game for the rest of us. I could care less about the game but have developed good friendships while playing this silly game, which keeps me involved as time permits. I'm fortunate to have played with some very wonderful people! So please don't encourage the few jerks that are lashing out at Gree, they are trying to run a business. Just walk away and play at the level you are comfortable and able to play at.
That said play the game with the people you enjoy playing with because you like playing a game with them, not because of the game. Your feelings and pleasure at any point are under your control because we all have the freedom to do so, unlike some places where people don't have such common freedoms we all enjoy.....just a thought.

Bravo Unit1! Thank you for taking to time to post this. It is sad that the forum has simply become a collection of complaint threads, rather than the helpful exchange of information that it used to be. I can't agree more: if you no longer enjoy playing this game as it is, you are perfectly free to stop playing. If you have ideas for making the game better, sending Gree a note with your improvement suggestions is helpful; simply jumping on the now-fashionable "Gree Sucks" bandwagon is not.
Regarding customer service...my personal experience may be very different than some others'; however I have had nothing but pleasant interactions with the Gree folks. All tickets I have submitted - admittedly for mishaps largely of my own creation - have been quickly and satisfactorily resolved.
When you step back to consider, Kingdom Age is a complex game played within a complex social framework. Game enhancements and quests are launched continually to a voracious and demanding audience. Gree does not have the luxury of months of beta testing for each individual enhancement the way other gaming products do. I think they do a pretty good job of it, and I enjoy the time I spend playing the game, researching how to play it better, and chatting with the people I've met along the way. I play only to the level I am comfortable, and do not begrudge Gree for any money I've spent along the way through my own free will. If that ever changes, I will find somewhere else to spend my free time and $, no hard feelings. Being angry and calling the company an assortment of overly-dramatic names is silly. You are the fool who started playing, after all. Take responsibility for the choices you've made, and make new choices when it seems time to do so.

Great philosophy Unit1! I agree totally. You only how you react to things in life. I choose to react positively in spite of the naysayers.

This past weekend should be a final straw that things need to change.
The problem is, every time there's a fucḳup it's the "final straw." Not enough players do anything about it (ie: refunding their money through iTunes and then refusing to spend for anything). And certainly not the people who are spending 4 figures (or more) per month on the game.
That said play the game with the people you enjoy playing with because you like playing a game with them, not because of the game. Your feelings and pleasure at any point are under your control because we all have the freedom to do so, unlike some places where people don't have such common freedoms we all enjoy.....just a thought.

Good thing our early soldiers didn't think
That way. I respect our military and all that
Serve for my freedoms. There is no greater
Sacrifice. I also think we are free because
We were not complacent. We didn't let
England continue untested and when it
Became apparent it was our way or the
Highway. We chose the highway
Do not look for just the bad, agreed but
do not lie down to be stepped on over
And over. Stand tall and fight for what is
Fair. Then you 'll really enjoy what you have

No matter how hard you try game programming will always have flaws in it and people will always find them and us them to their advantage. If you found a way to get something easier would you take it?

While I agree with Unit1 on the level of some complaining, and certainly playing this game is a choice, many complaints involve people spending money for something they do not get, or was not as advertised. Are gaming companies also free in screwing you over?
Most complaints I just roll my eyes, but there are legit complaints in there as well. You should get what you pay for, and we have laws that state the same.

I agree that you should get what you pay for. I do think that a lot of the complaints and anger come from the fact that what is paid for seems to have an ever changing (and diminishing) value. Runaway stat inflation works just like any other form of inflation. You continue to get less and less from each gem purchase, but the prices have not adjusted to the new gaming reality.
I am and always have been a free player. When I first started playing 2-3 years ago (it was back in the funzio days) I took one look at the price of gems and decided they were a poor value per dollar. Nothing has happened in the intervening years to make me think that I made the wrong call there.
I would like to ask the paying players, what is it the value that you feel you are getting out of your purchase. For example, do you think of it like this "If I spend $500 on gems per month I should expect to finish in the top 50 and complete all iLTQs?" And anything outside of those expectations means you have not gotten value for your purchase? Is that how you look at it?
Obviously, different people will have different reasons for why they buy gems. I'm just curious.
