Able to attack people on allies list?

As the title describes I have just been able to attack two people who I have on my ally list? How is this possible? I didn't think this was supposed to happen?

People were getting thousands and thousands of allies back in the day. So they opened up the attacks to include people on your allies list. The only people you can not attack are faction members

What is funny is they allow you to use the six units that having the ally grants you. So really that ally is making you six units stronger whilst you are messing them up haha

This was changed sometime back J1mcrane. You can attack a player in your Allie list. The change that GREE did to the game was they prevented players who are in your faction to show up in your list of players to attack. Once you or someone from your faction leave, then it's game open.

If I'm not mistaken, this was changed back in 2013.

I just assumed "allie" meant "allie"!!! Silly me for assuming that there would be any common sense lol. Thanks guys for pointing out the insane truth.
