Is Gree Cheating on the Controband Boxes Event?

I think the Box event is not fair :confused: Since the first day i have 9 form 10 blood diamonds and 7 from 8 Weapons on the goal. I didnt spend any gold. So since 2 Days i get only "good luck" I spend 300 gold and get weapons but no new weapons and no new diamond. It is bad luck? I think not? There are 10 Option when you open a box 8 weapons,1 diamond and 1 good luck next time. Its not possible to get since over 2 days only better luck and 1 weapon its so unbelievable. How much money should we spend to complete it gree? 500-2500? The box event makes so no fun..

I agree the box event is bitterly annoying to even attempt to complete it, but it basically is a 'luck of the draw' event. No cheating, it's all done randomly. Good luck! (I'm on 7/10 blood diamonds and have 4 of the 8 items)

I would go for the 10 blood diamonds, but that's only if you want to spend a little bit of gold. That nice prize for obtaining all 8 of those items for most probably isn't even worth the try, unless you have plenty of gold at your dispense.

Hm 300 gold and no final diamond hurts a bit.. Have no idea how much gold should buy to complete it

Some of the weapons are better than the others and thus 'rarer'. They are the hard ones and the chances are not the same. Also with each diamond the chances of the next reduce. So finishing either become very difficult. I'm personally just grateful that the other prizes are not totally worthless. Unless your a lvl 250. Then they probably still suck.

It is all about knowing the 'rules of the game'. What you have experienced is not bad luck at all. It is exactly how the 'draw' algorythms are designed. You have the most chance on the first few hours of day 1, so if you want to use gold, use it as soon as event starts and keep resetting the timer with gold and opening with gold... Your chances go down as the event progresses. It is quite normal to get stuck at 9/10 or 7/8 for like 3 days... Also, that last weapon that you struggle to find is not the same as what others miss; so that means the theory of 'rare' weapons is not true... when you expect this as the normal behavior of the event, you won't get as frustrated!

The "chance to win" events especially these box events, and to a lesser extent the "collect X loot" LTQs and the newest "collect X loot" from the Epic Boss a few weeks back continue to be the three card monte of CC. Just play them free or casual or you will just end up frustrated. For every player who gets 10/10 and/or 8/8 for free there are far more who spent gold and got neither.

Stick with events where you have a general idea the gold that will be required to get the loot item. I would feel differently if Gree would publish the odds on the events, but that doesn't seem to be something they're going to do.

Ill never use gold on random chance event again did it once got pissed and like I said never again, the sooner ppl follow suit the sooner gree raises odds or gets rid of them entirely.

I need 1 diamond 3 weapons if I dont get there oh well life goes on and wallet isnt any lighter.

Events like these is why gree cant operate in their home country and soon the European Union will ban them as well

Got myself the 10th item using cash opens on with 48 hours left and also just got the final 8th other prize about 4 hours ago. So, if this is cheating, I'd hate to see all the players if it was "fair".

There's nothing here that I can see defines a "lowered chance" as time passes. There's nothing. It's straight percentages the entire way through. There's no conspiracy!

The chances of you getting that 10th item from the 9th item is 2%. That chance of 2% if assuming you actually opened the box. That is determined server side and there's no exact percentages. I am always under the assumption that after you include the chance of failing the open, it can vary from .75% and 1% of receiving the 10th item. There really isn't a conspiracy here. I don't know about everybody else but if you want to make an argument about there being something wrong with the system then show some evidence. I seem to be the only one who says "Hey guys this is a bad chance" and then shows where I get my numbers from with evidence from a model of the event.

People have been circulating this nonsense the first day. You guys still have 20 hours left. Make use of the cash opens and if you don't get it then move on. There will be more events and you don't have to win every event to have fun in this game.


There is no evidence of the odds shifting dependent on the day. The only things that modify your chances at the final prize are your level.

So fed up with these box events, I open one nothing in it and my total number of boxes doesn't go down, every event they screw up, I don't know why I bother carrying on with this game tbh, it's about the third box event in a row this has happened on and all you get from support is "thanks for letting us know, we'll work on it to ensure or doesn't happen again", first time it happened I'd actually spent gold on the event so was mightily peeved I can tell you.

Considering I have 3 accounts, so 6 goals and have only finished 1:6, all using Cash openes I'd say that they fixed it where completion without gold is unlikely. Not impossible, but not likely. Until 3 box events ago I would finish every time with all accounts. Fallen short since they 3 straight. Likely one of their "changes for the better" which is gree code for " bend over and ignor the pressure at your back door".

Forgot to add. I was spoiled enough the first time I didn't make it that in the last hour when sitting on 9/10 I thought surely a couple of timer resets and guaranteed openings I would complete. Like an idiot I threw a couple hundred gold at it and never got the 10th item. Sure I got weapons for successful openings, but not item #10.

I've been up since 5 this morning. Maybe 12-15 openings, not one blood diamond. MAYBE what they need to do is change the name of the open options. Maybe they should be "no chance" "almost no chance" and " sure you'll open it and not get what you need"

Ummm...every box you open has something in it. If you dont get an item you failed opening the box, which is why the number of boxes didnt drop. Of all the things you could complain about thats what you choose? Learn how the event works before complaining

Hehe... I was at 9/10 diamonds and 7/8 collection since the 2nd day and ended up stuck till the very end. Even at the last 12 hours, I spent around 150 gold to open it hourly to at least hope that I can acquire one of the two last rewards.

What's my result?

I love the way one of these threads pops up every collect 10 event! It's a crap shoot. Of course it's specifically designed to bilk you for as much money as possible. The more gold you spend without the desired effect, the better for Gree(d). It's no different than taking your money to a casino and betting 18 black. Sure you can win every once in a while, but odds are most assuredly not in your favor. It's a gamble, with real money, and you're most likely going to lose. Like others have said, "Use the fake cash in game for your opens, don't expect to win it all, if you do that's great but if you don't you won't be lighter in the wallet and you won't have any more gray hairs from worrying about your imaginary gangster and his pitiful stats" (quote edited for brevity)
