That spreadsheet would be sweet if it had the LE buildings in it. I do my own math when it comes to upgrading buildings

Max your cement factory ASAP, it will save great bucks when upgrading or buying big buildings.
I know a lot of people say this, but I have never been convinced that its worth doing early on. It takes 558 hours to upgrade it to get 10% reduction in cost. That's an awful lot of lost opportunity at a point where, for most people, the limiting factor is the time it takes to upgrade. And that's before considering the 34.5M cost of upgrades. To get that back you need to be doing 345M worth of upgrade.

If you had bought just one level 1 oil rig the income over that time would be over 120M, for an outlay of only 4.7M, a much better return.

I left upgrading the cement factory until I had got my unit buildings to a decent level and had already built a reasonable income.

I disagree. For low IPH players, the cement factory is absolutely critical for stretching for the expensive LTB. My mini upgraded it to level 10 and the reduced cost has helped it squeak by on the LTB multiple times before time expired and they disappeared from the store. But with that said, I wouldn't upgrade the cement factory until your IPH is at least higher than 500K unless you are able to raid a lot of money during the day.

If your IPH is under that then you'll have a hard time saving more than 100M in base income in the 20 or so days you have to build the buildings (let alone the fact you need to save for 2 of them).
