I have come up with a "cheap as possible" list for leveling Legendary and Epic armors, based on individual elements. This is a list considering crafting each armor for enhancement, i.e. nothing from rewards/chests, like fusion boosts and free armor from arena rewards. The information used to create this list was found in the "Armor Leveling" tab of "The Spreadsheet", which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiQKRFnZ9_jpdEFtUUVnd2dQM1ZIX2IxT1RNZVlva lE#gid=0
6102
Roc Feather Robes and Armor of the Infernal Lord were compared, but the cost effectiveness didn't balance out until the mid to upper 90s.
This list is NOT the fastest way to level your armor, just the cheapest. Also, I started a new thread for this, so that anyone that wanted to find it would just have to open the thread instead of it getting lost in the pages of the original Armor Leveling Research thread.
Forgot to mention the order of expense from least to greatest: Water, Spirit, Earth, Air, Fire

I just wish it wasn't so mind-crushing to farm that many Snakeskins. I usually end up using less gold-efficient methods because the Snakeskin farming was killing my brain.
Heh.

You will have more than 4.5k snakeskins before you know it...

Thanks for the maths on working this out, much appreciated!
Also very nice for the downloadable pdf too.

You mentioned something being cheaper in the mid to upper 90s..
But the cost stops at 74. So if it is cheaper in the 90s, it is cheaper at 74. The cost stops at 30k per enhancement armor at 74. That's the cap.
Is that taken into this?

The cost stops at 30k per enhancement armor at 74. That's the cap.Yes, the cost for each enhancement caps at 74, but the amount of enhancement points needed does not. For fire and air, it is cheaper to enhance with Spectral Captain's at 72 EP for 50k, than it is to use Armor of the Infernal Lord at 90 EP for 80k (for fire), or Roc Feather Robes at 90 EP for 70k (for air). It takes 5 SC to equal 360 EP, so for crafting it would be 250,000 vs 360,000 for AotIL or 280,000 for RFR.
From level 74 exactly (5570 EP), you would need to use 48 SCs to get to level 98, then finish it off with 1 snakeskin or similar 20 EP armor. That totals, with crafting cost, 3,870,000.
For RFR from 74 exactly, you would need 40 RFR to get to level 99. That totals, with crafting cost, 4,000,000.
For AotIL from 74 exactly, you would need 40 AotIL to get to level 99. That totals, with crafting cost, 4,400,000.

Old sheet I made a long time ago (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al1IdtlQqj3EdE1BMmFyaU94d3pibTBidXkwbHdjV 2c&usp=drive_web#gid=0)
Slightly different. But a more detailed breakdown. This link used to be in the stickied threads, and probably still is if you look

Interesting to see that you have the cost per EP of matching snakeskin cheaper at level 16. Do you happen to remember the formula you used to come up with the cost?

It's purely based on, "<cost of one armor>/amount of ep gained"
It doesn't take into account using 4, or whether you gain a level when you fuse x amount, or anything like that.
So, for example, if at level 16 it costs 1,000 gold to use an armor, it would just be <1,000/24>, or <1,000/20>, depending on match.

Gotcha, thanks! I would've posted the breakdown for mine, but it was like 12 pages and probably would've been confusing to look at.

Exactly the reason I never did it, lol.
I made that spreadsheet and then thought about everything that would need to go into making a more complete, "perfect," methodology. Including level-up cost, evasive cost for free armors, etc. Then the new arena came out, and armor became so flooding, and gold so piling up, that I just forgot all about it.

I did it because my guild's bonuses aren't maxed yet, so that I could max my EB+'s and still donate. After it was done, I thought maybe someone else would find it useful as well.

Thanks for the guide. Only have six maxed out fields thus far so this confirms what I've already been doing with my 1 legendary.

To save time and materials, I just level with basic armors until level 25. yes it technically cost more gold, but at that level you are talking about very little gold. Plus you save some snakeskin farming. Personal choice.
