I'm back with more graphs after taking a war off! This war, the rainbow core migrated to SNL and as usual pushed to a strong lead, doubling the next highest score within 12 hours and maintaining a huge lead for the rest of the war.
The rest of the scoring was more unusual. At the two hour mark, eight guilds had established themselves in the top ten slots, with a distinct gap followed by a large cluster. In the next couple of hours, Chrono Trigger and LXG jumped across the gap to fill out the top ten. No one else made any effort to compete as those ten widened the gap to around 4 million by the 24 hour mark, then leveled out a bit for the remaining two days.

Here are the graphs from the previous war. I sat that one out, but still collected data... but I spaced on posting it here. :)

If the next war is in two weeks, I will not be able to participate or collect data -- I'll be on a plane during one day, and far too busy to think about K&D two other days. If someone (or a group of someones) would like to do graphs instead of me, that would be great! Or, if someone else will volunteer to collect the rankings for me every few hours, then I could put them into graph form after the war is over.

Back to Back 5th place finishes. Looking for number three in next war with Shining Force.
Thanks Beth for chart. I always wondered what would happen if there were no 11th guild competing. i thought the armor would go cheap and people would hold gems. Not the case. All 10 guilds ignored the fact that they had the prize already and continued to gem.

Makes no sense whatsoever... 1 day in and already had a 4 mil lead over #11. Hell, 12 hours in and top 10 was already set. Could have pretty much stopped at that point. This is where it would be great if all the guilds would just play nice and give the big double middle finger salute to Gree and work together and keep their top 10. Why spend more than you need to, if its only for an extra boost or two? Especially at this point where we've yet to see any new content outside of a new arena setup in the last year?

Cause you get tagged a leech and blacklisted if you don't gem the amount you pledged. A lot of people burned through tons of gems in the first 4 hours/10 hours, while people in other time zones or who were busy hadn't done anything yet. Even though coasting was an option fior the guild, it would be unfair to those who pushed hard early. I suspect that was the driving reason why scoring continued long after the rewards were secured.

^^ not that I'm in these wars anymore, but we would take gem commitments, and if you didn't make them, or stopped half way, it looked bad on you, and you would be kicked / blacklisted. However, if I was to aim for top 10 again, I would impress upon the guild to not use all your gems right at the start to be able to save without being unfair to the whole guild. Better guild management is what's needed

That's a good suggestion.

Maybe because I haven't been around a while, but by this time in the game, you'd think you'd have a better grasp on "commitments" from people, and be a little more lenient. I understand weeding out leeches and freeloaders, and the whole blacklist thing, but shouldn't you also have a better grasp in that as well?

I liked the graph that had the images of what you could afford with that much money. I believe the top item was a Yaris.

Before each war you need to estimate what you think the cost of "the position" you are aiming for is going to be. There are many things to consider in doing i.e
chatter false or otherwise of guilds making a push for higher spots
previous wars and what it took to gain the position you want to finish.
whether all members will hit target, whether its leeches or some freak accident that stops players scoring.
Once you have attempted to calculate this and set a target score you divide it up between your members and have various targets to hit during the war itself.
Its upto each individual guild to decide on this but once a target is set at say 150k imagine how your members would feel if every member hit that target bar just one or two.
That is the reason scores were the way they were this last war. If you want top 10 its better to overshoot then under achieve surely. This in my opinion was still a cheap war we had a reserve of gems in hand to make sure of top 10.
I wonder what the targets set next 3 day war will be.
