Hey everybody! We are considering including faction names in the tutorial for a new feature that's coming out soon. Three factions will be used in a ranking example. Which would you prefer to see, the names of top factions past and present or fictitious factions?

Please cast your vote in the poll, and if so inspired, reply to the thread with suggestions for either real faction names you'd like to see in the tutorial or ideas about fictitious names.

As the new feature is still in development, we have to keep it under wraps as changes may happen. When we are able, we will provide more information.

How about fictitious names that are plays on real faction names like Super United Privates or Templar Kite Order. Admittedly these are stupid but there are much more clever people here that can come up with better. =P

I think it should be fictitious names... To me, it would be unfair in recruiting to have those 3 names advertised that much more frequent... I do not think that it is GREE'S intent or place to give any team a unfair advantage.... So please use fictitious names

I think it's a good idea to use top factions. Reward them for there hard work. This will show them that you appreciate them

Fictitious. Having names give the perception that Gree supports indirectly or directly the factions stated. You will have to make sure the names won't be allowed.

I concur with Denerio, it doesn't have to be top factions, maybe randomly pick among the top 100.

Opinions seem to be divided, and good arguments brought to the table, that's why I like this compromise.
But if you want to feature real factions, how about The Dutch Fighters? They are a well-performing team I hear...

I am for the idea of using real faction names as long as that faction's members agree. There is one change that I would like to see.

What if there was a way that Gree could categorize all of the factions out there and split them up into a 3 tier hierarchy. And then use the best faction of each of those 3 tiers. Or choose the best 2 of each tier. The difficulty would come in where Gree would have to choose what the tiers would be based off of. The easiest choice would be to use WD placings.

I think it should be names of factions that have been around over 9 months and made the top 4000.
Reward longevity not money spent.

Im in for the real faction names, however I do agree with some here that it shouldn't be just the top factions. Pick a few per ranking tier, and if its a repeated event, change those names with every new one.

Don't spend more then 15 seconds thinking about this... Just call it Faction 1 Faction 2 ect... and focus on more urgent and useful concerns within the game.

Not that it matters, but using actual players and factions for reference has a habit of becoming obsolete very quickly. Factions split/merge/disintegrate and players retire or become inactive all the time, and the reference becomes meaningless after a while. I think it would be more of a giggle to use Mod or Dev names, or puns on Gree (Gree's Lightning? Sorry). Have some fun with it.
