Please could you expand on your problems with the Epic Boss armors?

Nian's Wargear is just what I need to complete my circle of 3x legendary armors in adjacent elements. Moreover it's 9% stronger overall than the Abominable Platemail, and 23% stronger than Boreas' armor. Seems to me this is the strongest epic boss armor to date.

OK, there are stronger Epic armors, but isn't that the point of epic armors?

Got what I needed though.

Problems with eb armors are... I get 3 every week... almost anyone can get two. Playing field a little too level there.
