Typically the PVP tournament is leaderboard style like a syndicate war. You get IP each time you successfully attack or rob someone. Higher points for stats that are closer to yours, unlike level gap in wars. There is usually an aggregate syndicate leaderboard and also an individual leaderboard with tiered prizes.

They could also/instead incorporate streak goals. They have done that too.

I'm just glad to see a PVP event again. That aspect of the game has been lacking.

Nooooo! Why Gree? Just spent the whole weekend on this game I don't wanna have to do that following weekend as well. Stick to one big weekend event every three weeks. And before some wise guy tells me don't participate if you don't want to, seeing as it's a synd event I'm somewhat forced to take part or risk getting kicked. Gree you're seriously damaging this game by the day. Put the rivals list back to what it was, and fix the things that need fixing, like android issue of not being able to see full stats during battles, or make skill points and building defences count for something.

Yes, except if all the rivals in your list are "too beat up". Then you will find yourself with no target to hit and will have to wait 2 hrs doing nothing. You can't spend gold even if you are dying to do so...

It could be a strange weekend, with this new rivals list everyone will be so close. So far I have only found 3 people I can rob everyone else has much better stats. Mind you I think there will be big points to be had if you can find anyone to rob.
Not like before where you could rob somebody with low stats and get 70- 80 points per hit, maybe this time I might get in the 200 points per hit

Never got what all the fuss is about over pvp. Prizes were average at best compared to other events and the xp gain was awful. I think people only want this back because it's been missing so long. When it's here they will realise it ain't all that. If it's before the BTE event as well there a danger of falling into next boss band so be careful

Better think again. If you're lucky, you might get prizes equal to the individual win goals during Seaside Shoot-out, but if you want high-stat items, be prepared to shell out loads of gold, just like any other event. If I had to take a stab at their intentions, there will be two tiers: a Normal mode (which takes into account the number of wins from successful attacks) and an Elite mode (attack win streaks), and only if both are met do you receive a major prize of some sort, probably something ridiculous too (e.g. 1200 total wins + 50 consecutive wins). That's the only logical reason for this dunderhead move of revamping the Rivals List: by matching everyone's stats closely, the chances of maintaining a win streak of any sort have been greatly reduced. Anyone who thinks that this rebooted Rivals List will benefit them during PvP hasn't thought this through.

I get the rational. peeps with good incomes are obviously campers so make good income irrelevant and you make campers irrelevant. Unfortunately they have also made pvp irrelevant! and long term game play, stat gain, ......
To be honest I havnt liked pvp format or prizes since the old snowball / pig skin days so I'm not sad about this. Anyway everything else is way too fare kt up to care about a silly old broken pvp.
