Whats the purpose of a medal

Hi, I m a noob here. I won 3 in a row and got a medal as the 3/3 prize. what's the medal used for?

if you collect all of them throughout the monthly events (70 i believe) you get awarded a pretty big prize unit. It costs a lot of gold to get them all though. Not worth it imo

Your digital parts grow larger with bigger units..... hahah ya my digital parts have went soaring..this time around the units was more attainable for alot of players without spending 30k gold like the first event..i have gained over 1m in stats just from the ground medals..working on 60th one right now and that willl be my final one unless some show how i can get alot more battle capabilites done..im on 24/30 right now
