this is how it's been since the start of these event, you can spend a little (600)and get lucky or spend a couple vaults. if using gold best results are usually in the first couple hours of the event . no guarantee but seems to be better

I've learned that it's best to play these events free and hope for the best. As soon as you start wanting the top item too much you will spend gold and you wont stop to justify the gold used. In the end, it's usually not worth the cost.

Has anyone had any luck - got to seven pretty easily without spending toooooo much gold when the event started but then I had to go help out some family and I didn't have access for a good 10 hours - now I've spent quite a bit (for me) and I can't get anything! : ( does the vent get harder as time goes on? Is it more worthwhile to spend gold at the beginning of the event or is it just getting harder to collect the last 3 moia heads because the top prizes are huge? If it's possible to get the top prize without spending too much I will say though this is a great event! But if I just keep spending and I get nothing I'll be pretty disenfranchised I think... : (

So you think that just because you go into the casino and spend money "gambling" you should win all the time?

If your silly enough to use gold gambling on what might come out of the box (the heads probably have a very low chance of showing) then you deserve all you get.

5 has done me fine. The 7 and 9 units are poor stats in comparison to other rewards. Will still be trying for 10 but wont hold my breath

This is the first time that I have used gold in a gambling event since my first encounter with the event where I thought you get the objective with every gold hit. Anyways... I am trying to get to 65 medals so I needed these 4 to do so. Once I got 2 heads using cash hits, I said F it and reset the timer and did a gold hit. I received 5 heads in a row using this method! I'm almost tempted to go for 10 now that I have 7.

i opened 8 heads first day no gold.. I wont use gold on this event. However I agree with the original posters first point. the cash "reward" of 4k when it cost 200+ k to open it is insulting. HOw is that a reward? its bad enough u risk the 200k just by using cash option and have what a 33.3% chance of opening then when you do open it which is suppose to be a good thing you get rewarded with 4k??? And getting valour at this point for anything is useless I have 4.1 million valour that is just sitting there until I reach a level where it gets me units over 1k stats its mean nothing. I believe his point is that gree is driving people away with rewards like this especially since they want you to spend real money to get them.

They have now ruined even the 3,5,7 box events too. I used to easily get first few on the first day (first hours of event). I'm at 2/10 right now with at least 18-20 attempts. The $4k is indeed an insult. I'd rather get 0. I won't even raid a building for under $40,000 a hit. And for gold, I learned that lesson the first time. I was at 9/10, 90 minutes left in event. Used 80-100 gold and 2 money opens.... nothing. I've never used gold on a chest event since (this was prob 9 months ago). And this go around for a 40k unit? ahahahahaahah.... right...

Junk rewards but a great final unit. I got 5 with all cash hits then used gold after that just to open and none to reset the timer. Got the final one today and it costed around 200 gold total.

This is only the second time I got the final unit and the last time it costed around 450 gold. It's pure luck on this event and know other players that have spent 2,000+ gold never to get the final unit.

Would be a better event with decent units or at least enough cash to cover the amount spent when doing cash opens.

I consider myself very lucky then. I got my 10th Moai Head yesterday with still 3 days on the clock. I didn't use any gold, just cash opens. This shows those box events are just about having luck.

I accidentally opened one with gold and I got "sorry better luck next time".... I'm sure it was some type of timing glitch error because when the gold option was hit I got a server error which I have been getting a lot recently, and then I did cash option, just as the gold started deducting the "Sorry, better luck next time", popped up. I'm not even sure if I got anything or what I got if I did. I really didn't feel like trying to explain it to Gree, as I'm sure 2 weeks later when the ticket was finally answered they just would've told me, "sorry, better luck next time" and closed my ticket.

I remember the one with the shrike superiority fighter with 8k/6k stats and getting the final special item for free to get it. I felt so awesome at the time lol as it was my very best unit by far, now it seems pretty much useless apart from the bonus as you've got all these super powerful units, I haven't got loads of those but i have the marauding war ship and that was the highest stat when it came out. Now you've got the medal events and the 300k units and soon enough we'll have a 1 million stat unit, just don't know when it will come.

I'm 9/10 with cash opens only. I've spent gold on 2 different box 10 events, none since the 14k unit with 15% air defense. I realized awhile ago that this is simply a roll of the dice event. I haven't found any patterns or opens at 15 min past the hour etc. I just cash open every hour and see where it takes me. And although I'm tempted to spend gold to try to get the 10th Moai Head, I know that it will just frustrate the hell outta me. I do spend gold, not a ton, but I usually want to spend it on something that I know will result in a unit. Hey guys, never really posted on this forum, but I read a lot of the threads, as they are extremely informative. So for that, I thank you guys. Anyways, just wanted to tell you that I've opened nine boxes containing heads with only cash hits, so I wouldn't waste any gold on this one. Honestly, I am far outperforming myself with no gold as opposed to the past when I got skunked after spending a vault.. Much sympathy.

Well I have like this:

10/10 on main account (ios, all cash openings)
3/10 on mini thats on droid (crappy drop rate, all not registering, all free openings)
8/10 on supermini (ios, all free openings :))

P.S If U get a streak of 10-15 times better luck next time in a row, then usually after that U get moai head. Not always, but most of the time. Has been like that on previous events too ;)
