Besides the fact you have to invest a fair bit of money to get in the top 10, I really enjoy guild wars. So I would love to see this feature get better with time.
Here are my suggestions:
1) Give a bonus to the losing team if the fight is real close (E.g. Veni Vidi Vici beat Koyo Academy, 40 818 to 40 492) i actually felt bad for them losing.
2) Give a insentive to the highest scorer of a match (both teams combined, also the higher the top scorer the better the reward)
3) Give an insentive to the best scorer of the guild (the bigger the guild the better the insentive)
