Offer past war buildings for a certain amount of gold each.
Lower your prices, people don't want to spend thousands on an app, if you lower your prices more people will play and you will still make the same as more people will buy things, but for less.
Give us more non combat based bonuses. While this will create a slight decrease in gold spending your players will be more happy and less will quit.
Replace the 28 day unit thing, with a scratcher for gold, people will love you for this.
Give us random gifts, I miss when we would just randomly get 100 gold, there was a reason your stock was far higher than, than it is now.
Above all put customer satisfaction before profit. Ask yourself "what would I want as a player?"
