View Full Version : From retirement to quitting, goodbye all.

Dear all,

Mexico was my last stand. I got the prizes but finally lost the fun. It is time for me to go. For all those i got to know I truly wish you good fortune and fair play ensuing the hazardous glitches this game is rich of. Without elaborating further I confirm there is no level playing field and this gets worse the higher amounts one spends.

The friendships are real though and for that reason alone I hope this game will continue to exist for as long as its business model permits it.

As to my account it has been an over €200k investment. A rather ridiculous amount I know and I do feel some regrets. Not so much as to the amount itself but for reasons not to be placed here on this forum. My account and base is maxed out on everything but the current 18 million in stats will be worth nothing soon lol, another reason to think twice about maintaining your account :).

Anyways, goodbye
A retired
And now quitting
Yours,

doctor Zoidberg

Yo big guy, we never really spoke and you don't know me, but I just want to share with you that a very smart player told me once (a retired player) that the only way to beat this game is to leave it!
And after all you've been through (you're legendary and you'll be remembered forever in the history of this game) it's a very brave thing to stand up and quit.
I also want to tell all the other players - don't forget that after all it's a game and it should be fun! Spending money is ok but just as long as you find the balance!
Farewell big Ferr! Go back to your old life and never look back! I'm sure you'll enjoy it :-)
Yours,
Doc.

Farwell Ferr. The game has certainly changed and players are starting to drop out. I personally have reduced spending in the game and have a feeling by the year end i will be making the choice to leave or just enjoy it as a free player (but as we all know getting passed up by players who have spent 1/10th the time and money you have because of the system will be irritating. Who knows...maybe the new bloods will keep this game going for another year or two? Maybe gree will change the system...but in the end it won't matter.

Have a great time and enjoy life.

Yours,

200k is a lot of money...

Ferr I wish you all the best for the future and you find some happiness that you found in the early days of modern war. I wish I had met you in battle, to see you pulverise my faction but that will not happen. Good luck in your new endeavours, whatever they may be. Modern War has lost a legend.

His posts were the best;

None can fill his shoes.

I thank you for your all you have contributed in terms of drive and provocation. Few have been as controversial. I salute you!

At least you know what the rules are in poker, and there's even a chance to have an ROI.

Pleasant trails Sir.

I'm not interested in your account, just mine and my boys. But the people behind the accounts is what makes the game the best. I've chatted only a handful of times with you and you were very pleasant. Good luck Ferr and I truly wish you the best of luck on the next page of games.

So who is going to fill that void?

Dear Ferr,
Hate to see you leave, a legend and icon of sanity and righteousness in this game.
Do believe your departure is a milestone in this game (if GREE doesn't get its act together): the beginning of the end...
You will always be remembered as the one who tried to make this game better for everybody...

When have i said whats right or wrong? Suggest you get your head out of some guys arshe, why praise some idiot for spending 200k on a game. (He can spend it on what he likes agreed, i'm not knocking that), but any fool can be a superhero in your eyes if their wallet is big enough.

I simply said he has a habit of retiring, and part of the addiction is coming back here and checking on whats said. If you are going to go. Go. That was my point so get your facts right before putting your fingers on the keypad.

I met Ferr when factions were first created. I had good stats for my level but nothing near what he had. I asked him if I could join the Emperors and he, graciously, allowed a small-timer like me to be accepted into one of the greatest factions to ever play this game. As a matter of fact, he accepted me with no questions asked. Instant membership in a top-ten (top-two!) faction! It afforded me the opportunity to learn and grow and accrue very valuable boosts and prizes; and I certainly would not be the player I am today were it not for my initial enlistment with the Emperors. More importantly, it allowed me to forge friendships and gain allies, the value of which transcend any unit I ever won or any monetary investment I ever made. And even though the faction requirements eventually exceeded my abilities (financially speaking) the experience(s) I gained are priceless--and they will most certainly last me a lifetime!

So before you go, kind sir, I would just like to offer you a heartfelt "Thank You" for your patience and generosity. You ARE the most honorable man I have ever met in this game. And yes, you truly are a legend my friend! I am sorry to see you go as the game will never be quite the same. I wish you only the best of luck in all your exploits and forays, in both the cyber world and the real world--you deserve it. I just hope you stop by from time to time to say 'Hello', if for no other reason than to remind all of us how the game used to be. Because for those of us that knew you, and were fortunate enough to have played the game with you, you will always remind all of us how the game SHOULD be.

Take care, Ferr

Gree should be plenty worried that someone who spent more than 100's of players combined is leaving the game. There are not many that would spend that kind of money on a game. With players and factions dropping like flies, stat inflation increasing from the already insane levels it is obvious that Gree is just going to ride this game into the ground. Wars every 3 weeks, it can't and won't go on. Goodbye Ferr even though all I knew of you was that you were with a high faction. There is still the SUP group carrying on but winning with no competition quickly loses its attraction.

Lmao. It always amazes me when someone comments on how much something costs, how much someone spends, etc. it is all relative...what you may think is a lot, others don't fret over...what you may make in a year, others can make in a day.

I know Brazil won the 1970 World Cup, but who came second?

I'm only saying what everybody is thinking.

Ferr sell your base and donate your cash to a little faction, then I know you have left, otherwise see you in the battle fields next month. An addiction is an addiction. An alcoholic will say never again will a drink pass my lips and hide the bottles in the cellar. Deleting MW is not the same as selling everything and donating the cash, just like pouring the drink down the drain or hiding the bottles.

I hope you do set yourself free from this game (pointless me even trying) and I wish you well for the future.

Ferr has won 10 times more individual competitions than anyone else in this game. When I think of the biggest spender or the single most powerful player in the game there's no doubt that it's ferr.

Second and third would probably have to be arachlord and lord for their wins in pvp events.

That said, obviously he didn't have the best strategy in wd events

Goodbye ferr. Glad you were part of the game. Wish you had given me those 200k euros instead of spending it on the game though haha

So long King of Leaderboard or Auction event for 5 or more times in a row dating back the first ever LB event. Spend time with your wife & relatives. And make some little baby Ferr already & stay away on this addictions. Spend more time with them than another Poker addiction will start. Please don't you dare touch that deck of card! & you will lose money again rather than buy it with your future kids, a brand new car like BMW, Lamborghini, or any Luxury car, or buy a big Yacht & sail with family & friends. Do some outdoor activity Ferr & you will never miss this useless things...

A retired

Bye Ferr, all good luck to you! Two players have made this forum much fun for me to read, PJ and yourself. As the two perfect antipoles, symbolic for the game that was supposed to be about fighting any stirring the pot. The shared history behind it, made this a great game to be part of and read about on the forum. Now you leave (as well), too bad for the game and the forum, but i like to thank you for your entertaining post, it was fun.

I'm still confused by all the terminology. Retired, quit. I seem to misunderstand these things. Buying and upgrading buildings, resetting etc, does not seem to be either of those. Nothing wrong with doing any of that. Just not sure why the announcements if still playing, unless you have bequeathed the game to someone else. If it's true then I guess your time has come before mine, though all of ours will come someday. Have fun in whatever else replaces and fills in the time you spent here.

Yeah, I was wondering how his boosts are still up if he's not playing.

Hmmm can i have an, 'auto reset my base' unit like FERWELL has.
When i leave my base, i have to physically keep coming back to reset.

'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, change the things i can, and the ability to know the difference'.
Addicts prayer.

Ferr I'm sorry, but the credibility factor just isn't there. Saw your stats earlier, and looked just now. A six mil increase in hours. You quit like SUP has given up the ghost. As I said earlier, nothing wrong with playing the game, just stop the grand announcements which are not even factual. We don't mind if you continue playing, or stop playing, it's all a personal choice, and nothing wrong with either.

Funny. You start a new forum account to post this stuff. Why hide who you are?

All anyone said is that it appears he is still playing. I didn't read anything remotely bad.

All the best Ferr. Realising we had drawn you in war for our first battle Saturday morning was a bugger of a way to wake up and I cursed a blue streak when I saw your name on the battle list. On reflection I am glad to be able to say I faced ferr in war even if all I did was roll over and let him take the win.
Take care

Funny guy you remain speed. When I say I quit I quit. It is like Elvis, when he is dead he is dead. Play the game and dont worry about Elvis who has been seen more frequently after his death than when he was alive. You funny Speed.

Ferr, I miss the late night chats on TeamSpeak, debates about battle strategies and the human insight that you always brought to every situation.

Those units that we fought so hard for in Brazil don't even show up on my top 45 anymore, but some day in the future I'll probably tell my grandkids about the eccentric Dutch millionaire pianist that I got to know through a silly video game.

Cheers!

Speed ferr's right hand has quit, his left hand has taken over his base.

Ferr sell up your base then make the statement, otherwise no one with more than one brain cell will believe you.
