Unless they start adding new and improved legendary and ultra rare armors, there isn't much appeal. Very few armors in that chest are even competitive. I don't expect very many people are going to spend $100 for a bunch of dated armors and some fusion boosts, just my thoughts.

This deal smells like a more powerful water/fire armor is coming out, whether in epic boss or their next limited edition quests. It is not unlike them to make an armor available, and then after milking all then can from it, make it obsolete :D

I have no interest in going for this deal...HOWEVER....how many people drop waaay more than 800 gems on a fusion war and only end up with 15 fusion boosts without the 50 fodder armours and a jian +, how man drop waaay more than this on the last guild war only to get back a jackalope+ and a couple fusion armours with no fusion fodder. Putting it into the scheme of things if you need to level armours I can think of plenty worse ways to spend 800 gems

Honestly, the more I think of it, the more I think next boss will be fire wind. Fire earth is double advantage over spirit wind, according to Greek mythology Circe is a whatever its name is living near water, pointing to a spirit water. All of these bosses have advantage over their predecessors, pointing to a fire wind.

For lower level players that have money to spend, but aren't capable of crafting + epic boss armors yet, Jian+ is the way to go. Regardless of whether or not Headless Horseman will be water/fire, Jian+ is still a REALLY good armor to have. And 15 fusion boosts + 50 armors is probably enough to max it or another one of your armors on the spot. It always comes down to the money you are willing to spend. With Gree there will always be the money shortcut, and I think that if you were planning on getting 800 gems and spending them on Dark Prince chests than it's worth it anyways.

I opened the 50 dark prince chests and here's what I got: Aegis of the Dragon +, Guardians Battlegear, Clayplate Mantle, Sky guardian +, 15 fire fusion boosts, and Jians +. I'd say I got pretty lucky, but still anyone could get just as much and I'd say it's a much better deal than anything else you would spend gems on. I now have the Aegis of the Dragon + and the Guardians Battlegear maxed. Jian+ is at level 60.

I seriously doubt this story. Guy drops the $100 and gets the only prize in the chest better than boss+, aegis+. Okay, that's lucky, but he had 50 pulls. But the idea that he's maxed 2 70 armors and on 60 for the third in two days (BUT HAS NO EPICS OR LEG+ BETTER THAN GUARDIANS OR JIANS) is absurdly unlikley. To put it another way, why bother leveling Jians and Guardians if you're obviously willing to spend sufficient gems to ensure you get to 43 every week (or use the Summoning Stone) and therefore get better armor. Something about this smells like BS.

Some of the previous offers tempted me - at least for a moment - to buy some gems and go for them. This is not one of them. Not even close. I have trouble imagining the target group for this deal...

- mid level players without epics, who are unable to reach EB level 43 even with some gems?
- players who have a lot of cash and go for 15 fusion boosts?
- collectors?
- people madly in love with Jian's Battlegear looks?

To state it again for people who might not know - there are only three armours than can be a result of DPC that are slightly better (as far as combined max stats go) than current Epic Boss armours:
- Aegis of the Dragon+
- Combustion +
- Clayplate Mantle+

Chance of getting a plus version of one of them is quite slim. If I was to spend gems on chests, I'd wait for a chest with good epic armour chances.

Jian's total is in the 2200's every EB up until now is in the 2400's and 2500's now, so yes it WILL be replaced if it does turn out to be Fire/Water

Exator summarizes the very best prizes you COULD get (Aegis of the Dragon+, Combustion+, Clayplate Mantle+) but my guess is most people don't read forums or know this top notch info... they just play and spend a lot of gems without aiming for the very best gear. Not trying to make them look bad, just pointing people play their own way.

I am F2P and trying to fuse for Combustion even when no + can result from fusion :-(

Did this deal give the + version? I did this Jians deal and got Aegis of the Dragon+, and I had Aegis of the Dragon already before, and the stats on the + version are much better. I have it maxed now and it's around 1400 1200. Has the bonus of looking pretty awesome too.

Well the difficulties on the boss are simply due to lack of stats, there really isn't any getting around that unless you're playing your luck with chests and getting lucky with epics, and happen to have a large chunk of gold saved up to max with.

My android alt guild was getting slaughtered in GW and people complained they weren't strong enough. Well, we were going against guilds that were the same level as us, but had people level 100, while most of our guild is level 40-50. The stat difference is easy to see. And the the guild is filled with a lot of people that likely don't use the forums, and don't know about stat capping etc, even after I've recommended they come here often... but its just a casual guild, I'm not expecting great things, so I'm not going to require them to use Line or even come to the forums...

That being said, I wouldn't place them in the target demo, as this is still one hell of an expensive offer, and seeing the armors many of them have, I wouldn't think they'd have the gold, or knowledge on how to max it out properly even if they did get the 50 extra armors to use as EP material, and just decided to plunk down the cash to get the offer.

Maybe its backward thinking, but I always assumed people on the forums are the higher population of gem spenders, since they'd want to get the most out of their money, and make sure they're getting their bang for their buck.

Not necessarily.

I'm not a gem spender and nor are the majority of my guild members. We are daily players that really like the game and want to learn about armors and the best way to level them, and we are also really competitive in the guild wars but we don't spend on it.

Being involved in 'the community' be it this forum or another nor spending gems are good indicators as to dedication. I, among others, are very hardcore dedicated gamers who simply can't justify dropping a regular chunk of change on this game.

I can respect the idea of opening chests for excitement, and seeing if you hit the proverbial jackpot, but like Aiden said, spending 800 gems on EE pretty much guarantees getting boss kills. And lately, those bosses are better stats than anything you'll likely get from the randomness of chests. The more armors you can get, the better off you'll be in the long run. Even if it takes a few weeks, so... to each his own.

You would actually get more chests epic boss way. Assuming you can only get to 60 5 times, you would get 50 enchanted chests, 25 darkprince chests, 18 enchanted chests, and probably good friends from having a high spot on the leaderboard. You will aldo easily get the 5 keys from beast brawl.

Is it due to not having high level friends, or not knowing how to efficiently manage your EE? Because your armors are quite superior to mine, and I've hit 43 kills on the last 4 EB's running(Just hit 43 against Fenris a few hours ago actually). I've been using Storm Sorc +, Infernal Lord +, and Sky Guardian(though I'm starting to switch over to Swampstone + as my regular 3rd armor). Only SS is maxed, Infernal lord is getting somewhat close, but neither are even close to your first two.

and that the only epic with earth is tec, so right now aegis of the dragon is half replaced and i promise next epic will be earth/whatever and if this happens aegis of the dragon IS fully replaced, not by a better earth/wind armor, but by a couple of better ones with at least one of its elements

Well your right, assuming you have all those epics. But say someone just has aegis and epic boss armors, until a new earth/wind comes out, aegis is far from useless. Aegis been out way longer than epics, lots if people have it and no epic armors. I was in that boat for months.

Aegis is totally useless. I only have one epic that I run in arena. I've never lost to aegis. I'm running EB+ armors and beastmaster. The closest an Aegis has ever come to helping my opponent in a match I still had 2 knights left after the win. If it can't find a place in top 500, it's useless. Aegis is useless.

many ppl still have aegis, most of the higher ranked players used aegis in the past and u saw it very often in arena some month ago, but now i rank at around 100-200 every week (belongs to my activity in playing) and i havent seen an aegis for weeks now, because it would just get crushed up there

Exactly!! I'm level 68 and my Aegis of the dragon can take out two of my level 90's friends Maelstroms (one maxed, the other almost maxed) with no problem. Although stats matter a lot, team composition is much more important.

I know a few ppl that bought this and I feel bad for them because if u still buy dpc's its either means u have no idea what your doing or your addicted to opening chests. It make no sense to ever buy dpc's anymore theres nothing in that chest that is worth spending money on. If its not epic it sucks or u can get it for free from the boss.

Arena doesn't matter, it's about countering certain settups in guild wars. My aegis+ eats cloud/mael like candy

I have a handful of epics, and I would still love to have aegis+. There are plenty of counters to it, which reduces its value in the arena, but it is still highly effective when putting together a lineup in war.

If you are attacking blind, you need to factor defense into your lineup. If you are attacking a boss or anyone that you have a scouting report on, you are setting an offense based lineup. It doesn't matter if your entire lineup could potentially be one-hit by the right matchup, because you are controlling the matchup. My mael has better stats, but eun's "outdated" aegis just destroys it.
