View Full Version : Opinions on using respect points

I'm looking to increase my attack stat and would like to get some input on the best way to spend respect points. Here's what I'm contemplating. In explosives the TNT bundle has both attack and defense of 15, with a cost of 2,000 respect points. I could buy over 15 of these. OR the Doomsday frag with an attack of 100 and defense of 40. I could buy only 1 of these at the moment, or save for a little while longer till I can afford 2 at once.

So basically what do you think is more effective, buying alot of lower stat items or fewer higher stat items? Keep in mind I'm looking to increase attack.

If you play the LTQ's etc. then buy the expensive one. You will be surprised how quickly you get 500 explosives.

Go with the higher stat item. With stat inflation that's especially true. But even without inflation, the lower stat items are only marginally better (or even worse) than your cash purchase alternatives.

I'm thinking go for fewer higher items if you're looking at playing longterm, especially with stat inflation going on.
Question you should ask yourself though: Do I really need to increase my attack?

I'm not saying that you don't need to, I'm just asking if it is really necessary. Can you not do it with cash?
I have commitment issues with RP, so I'm a bit biased. I have a whole pile of RP waiting for when GREE puts out more RP weapons :D

Thanks for the input guys appreciate it.

TMI, well I suppose I don't reeaally need to upgrade my attack at the moment, it's just my attack is roughly 40k behind my defense and I'm looking to even things up a bit. I am in this game for the long term. I would be interested in waiting it out for newer/better items to buy with RP, but in the 2yrs or so of playing I haven't seen many if any.

Well, instead of buying the TNT bundle for 2k RP, you can farm junkyard explosives which is also 15/15. You can save RP for future better weapons or if gree rolls out buildings built with RP you can use them.

You can just farm junkyard explosives with similar stats

This calculation might help. Ive grouped together all the CP items (the colors just separate the different classes), then calculated the attack per cp spent (times 1000 to make the numbers easier), the def per cp and the total att+def per cp. from this you can see that the lower priced items are by far the best "value for money", but of course they quickly fall out of your top 500. Of the high priced items the assassin's coat and Nitrous Cruiser give the best def and attack (respectively) value and best overall value. The Doomsday Frag is totally overpriced. You would be better off with four Nitrous Cruiser's for the same expenditure. Actually, explosives are all overpriced - you would be better off farming the crushed cars in the Junkyard ;-)

Now this is a straight ROI analysis of course. At some stage in the future all of these may drop off your top 500 anyway, and it also depends on how many of each item you currently have, but I hope this is helpful.

Nice! I made something like this in Shadowland. Also remember to take into account your weakest item of that category, if you're going to use att/RP, def/RP, and total/RP.
To do this, you'll have to buy a weapon in a category. See how much your attack and defense actually go up with that item. The difference between what the stats in the store says, and what your real stats actually go up is your lowest item of that category that you bring to battle with you.
You'll have to subtract that number from the att and def from the RP items listed above AND THEN calculate the att/RP, def/RP, and total/RP for those items.
But, as custos said, be careful because whatever you buy may become obsolete.
Also, good point by bravo 6 vk, hopefully GREE will come out with RP buildings!! :)
