View Full Version : why fall into the trap of gree

Honestly I have looked at this f2p game and its fun but when I see people spending countless amounts on a game, it makes me question people....a armor in a game is not worth 100s or 1000s it doesn't benefit you in life. I think all platforms need to understand you can be competitive without the use of $$ unless another guild is putting some money up or gree is paying you...what's the point?
I don't care for trolls and I don't knock if you buy but what is the point.

Because where I am from, it's a free country..?
Look, I am not a gem spender either, and I have my fun poking fun of the different personalities that exist in this gaming community, but I wouldn't go as far as judging people for how they like to spend their $.
Relax, sit back, and have fun.

What is the point of doing anything? What does going to a baseball game get you? What does going out to eat get you? What does going to a movie get you? What does playing a PS3 game vs a mobile game gain you?
Its all entertainment. That is the point. At the end of the day, its all about the entertainment.

I'm with busteroaf on this entertainment the fact using gems makes us enjoy it more oh well we do it cause we want to whats the point of going to buy a game for 60$ brand new when you can wait a week or two and get the same game 30-40$ because we want the ''new'' game its the same with gree, they bring new armor's that we want look at moontide now you can fuse it if your lucky enough by fusing any 3-4 star that has a spirit, and water within the fusion.

as long as they aren't causing their families(if they have any), to go without food or shelter, ehh whatever, it's their money. I personally would never do it, not really my thing, but I'm not going to make an issue over those who do. It's a pvp-oriented game, and people enjoy winning.

Tell this to the people with 3 Crime City accounts. You want lots of money on bad games?
CC, MW, MQ, KA. All by Gree. All far more money hungry w/ worse graphics & little to no real gameplay. I pay for K&D because it's amazing.

I have spent my share but looking at this makes me wonder if you have invested cool but I think other hobbies are better with more to gain. People made it seem like I was just insulting them smh if you feel the need to put into a company that doesn't do for you its fine I just don't see why you would.

^ that.
There is no insulting. People are telling you that one form of entertainment is their preferred style over another. And as stated in many other threads, what people do with their money is no one else's business. Because we aren't investing in something tangible, or letting our disposable income sit and grow at... What are interest rates now for banks, .01%?... Or in an IRA for our retirements... (Guess what, I already do, max amount too)... Like they always say: can't take it with you when you die.

Some of you are missing the point.
You're right in that how you spend your money is no one else's business, however, what you do with your cash ultimately impacts us all.
The reason there's so much angst from those that are free players, light spenders or have learned their lesson, is that the heavy, constant spending pretty much ruins the game for everyone else. Yes, it will.
What you're doing is encouraging Gree to take what was once a nice, pedestrian game and turn it to junk like MW, CC, KA and soon enough, this.
Gree has tasted the goods, from all of you, seen how crazy some of you will spend, and now they will squeeze with incessant events and inflation like there's no tomorrow. It's happening and trust me, once they tasted it, there's no going back and they will throw stuff at us like there's no tomorrow.
So you know what, it is our business and no matter how much disposable income you think you have, you will regret it. Maybe not today, tomorrow or in a few months, but it will happen.
So thank you for ruining another game.

KnD was nice and pedestrian? If you couldn't see more and bigger things coming other than Arena, a new Weekly Boss, and some chest events, you are extremely delusional. This is the SOP for all the games exactly like this. Thank you for not realizing that it was the way the game was designed from the start. Had they put spending limits in place, you wouldn't be talking (notice I didn't say *****ing or whining) about how the game is now, because there wouldn't be the issue. Their goal is to get people to spend, not limit what they can make by limiting spending.
And if you are so affected and impacted by the way people spend, go play a different game where you CAN'T spend any more money, or there are limits to how much you can spend.
Bluntman

If it bothers you so much than why dont you quit playing the game. You should know by now that in all these "free" games the people who spend the money will always have the advantage. I personally am a light spender but i have a lot of fun playing this game, sure i know that ill never get an epic from guild wars but i still have a ton of fun beating up on other light/no spenders like me. So you can either take it for what it is or just stop playing no one on here really cares about your whining

Oh really? This game didn't encourage spending prior to Gree's pathetic play book unfolding now here? Same goes for CC, MW, et. al. You don't remember? They were free-to-play back then and generated income.
What Gree has done to all of those games after they took them over is to play your sorry egos against each other, and in the process, torpedo the games.
You have any idea how Gree operates?

I had a serious discussion with my investors and business managers this weekend about breaking into this ridiculous market.
If mobile gamers are willing to spend absurd amounts of money for basically flash mini games, then instead of complaining about it, I will consider designing my own game and taking part in the fun.

Don't follow Gree's business model...they aren't doing well...
$100 million in profit is not doing well?
They laid people off because they had increased their overhead expenses based on a $300 million year.
That doesn't mean they aren't doing well, it means they overspent their profits and now are being forced to readjust their budget to compensate for the decrease.
I'll be happy with $100 million in profit to make some dinky little mobile games that can be programmed in a matter of days and require a FRACTION of what it costs to maintain a big market PC or console game.

Ironic as that is exactly what makes you fools spend so much. Maybe some reading comprehension will help.
And you're going to eat your words in a few months when war after war, event after event gets shoved down your throat and the armor you just paid for becomes useless even before you get a chance to level it up.
As I previously said in my second post here, this game was always pay, but it's going to be a war-infested pile of crap. People start spending less, their solution: insanely inflate stats and up the frequency of wars. This happens in all of their games.

Wow... you're a genius. Cause this hasn't happened already in THIS game.
Also... paying for armors that will be useless in a month or two... blah blah. Ever played Madden? NBA2KXX, Fifa whatever... How many versions are there? In Madden's case, its all football, but hey look, this edition has a new camera angle and increased tackling animations, and an updated roster. Gosh, let me go out and buy every single one. Its all the same gimmick. We're quite aware that the armors will be outdated. But we're buying our new versions in mobile form. And having fun doing it.
And again, if you don't like it... why are you still here?
Oh crap... someone said that if I say that, the other person has won...

The problem with games like KnD is that there's no "Warning! This is a pay2win game!" sign within the first hour of the game. In my opinion, those should be mandatory, so people who don't spend or at most a few dozen bucks can get out before the time invested makes it harder for them to leave. (they would probably need to remove arena ribbon I then though, since nobody would be in the 60K-1mil rank)

Yeap. It's the difference between the M&A brain trusts of the 90's and the guys still in business. Maximize local extraction or build to last? Either way, it was a business decision decided before acquisition, and someone confused cause with effect.
For what it's worth, I think the events - all of them - were necessary for the longevity of the game. I quibble over the details of the cost structure, but that's neither here nor there.

Hardcore players wouldn't be able to purchase gems (or anything)

Everyone is making fun of Marco for the above however I copied the following from an article on GREE..
"The practice, which heavily incentivized the purchase of random virtual goods, was banned by Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency for encouraging gambling like behavior. However, GREE also reports its monthly net sales are gradually recovering."
So I would say that a lot of people would echo Marco's remark...maybe not the p2w players on this forum. Obviously Gree has had to tone it down.

Some of you are really ignorant, read between the lines and are so insecure about justifying your spending that it is laughable.
However, if it doesn't bother you, who cares what we say? Getting defensive is telling in more ways than you know.
But, for those that can't get a point in a pen factory, I'll summarize my sentiments:
1. This game didn't all of a sudden turn from FTP to pay, it was always pay. Gree is transforming it, molding it based on player behavior I've seen all too much of.
2. Your insane spending, gambling, whatever you want to call it, has incentivized Gree to feed your impulsive, insecure behavior by two things: (A) hyper-inflation and (B) the frequency of events WILL skyrocket, way more than what you see now.
3. This ruins the game for those that played it prior to Gree turning this into another Modern War, Kingdom Age, etc. Even for the heavy spenders, fatigue will set in. And when that fatigue sets in, instead of backing off, Gree will quadruple the ante.
I would imagine a lot of you here whining about us whining are unfamiliar with the way Gree does their games. They have not lived through years of CC, MW or KA and seen things unfold the way they did when Funzio sold out into the hands of Gree.
Don't worry, you will and frankly, since the cat is already out of the bag, since it is too late to go back now, I hope Gree sucks every dollar they can from you.

Screw that. These games were fine and people spent BEFORE Gree got their money-grubbing hands on them.
However, it's a two-way street in my opinion and they wouldn't be ruining these games unless there were idiots that feeds them to the extent that some people do.
I personally don't have a problem with that, HOWEVER, Gree has the ingenuity of a brick and plays these fools in the same manner, over and over again.
They need to either figure out another way to manipulate their pocket books or just back off, because every time they run their well-known (and pathetic) play book--their hard-wired guide to milking these clowns--it freaking destroys the game.

Oh really Unicorn? It's a model that destroys more than anything else and you're the centerpiece of that destruction.
If you don't like reading repeats, then stop opening this thread. "No one is forcing you to read this thread, go elsewhere."
Or maybe you don't know what that means...

Hmmm...
Just my two cents... but I think there's a fine line between "Hey I wish we had more rewards for this and that" vs "The game makers should totally change the game for me." I don't know. I do have to poke at you a bit... self entitled much? ;) Isn't it more efficient to scope around for a game that seems to fit your needs, rather than to attach yourself to a game that seems flawed to you, and then wish that it would change? The world doesn't revolve around... well I digress.
I come to the forums to get information and to join in the occasional whines and rants because sometimes it's just kinda entertaining to do so ...but I do wonder ... does GREE ever listen to the requests made by the game players?

So constructive. Btw the model you're referring to is "economy"

Why do you even care so much and what do you get out of stating all this wisdom of yours?

I mean that's your opinion its sad tho that they chose to come to north america because they felt we were perfect targets to do this gaming method I enjoy this game but I just don't feel its worth what some put in.

You know what, I just deleted all of my Gree games, but I want to get something off my chest:
A) Unicorn showed me that homos can be jerks as much as anyone else
B) This game seems to attract the alternative lifestyle more than others
C) My little pony, unicorns and anything rainbow makes me puke
D) Many if you have gambling problems and don't even realize it (milk them Gree)
E) You can all kiss my ass
Damn, grammatical error.
Oh and:
F) You're all retarded

Totally OT, but your name always makes me think of Jesse from Breaking Bad.
Jesse: "Possum. Big, freaky, lookin' *****. Since when did they change it to opossum? When I was comin' up it was just possum. Opossum makes it sound like he's Irish or something. Why do they gotta go changing everything?"

Most the gem spenders are hard working adults. They earn their money, and they put a lot of time into earning it. This game is something that they can sit back and relax after all of that. It's their hobby. And if they want to spend a little bit on their hobby here and there, who could blame them?

I dont care if people spend money to buy gems in order to get Epic armors, but using money in order to get high ranks in arena and guild wars that is damn unfair!!! and need to be removed!!!
to see lvl 30 player among top 10 players in arena becuase he is using gems WTF!!! and me lvl 106 still in rank 800 :/
Please developers remove the usage of gems in arena and guild wars in order to have fair competition!!!

The problem is: Gree is an actual company. This is their livelihood, and if they take away the usage of refills they would probably make not even half as much as they normally make off of KnD.
