Hey everyone :p
With the PvP going on this weekend I'm curious as to what is the highest number of points you've gotten from 1 hit during any PvP event? I just reached my highest today of 1192!

Now I'm sure others will blow me out of the water lol. Happy PvP weekend all!

The higher your attack is, the furthest away in stats you can be and still win. That's just bc your attack score when robbing is a percentage of your raw score. So I'm very curious how many points the top guys are able to get. Most I've gotten so far is around 1200.

i think the only numbers that should count are those with screen shots.

That way we could see whether it was an attack or a rob.

I defined
Level = (Rival Level - My Level)
Results Stats = (Rival's DEF on Results Screen - My ATK on Results Screen)
Profile Stats = (Rival's DEF on Profile Screen - My ATK on Profile Screen)
and then ran: (n=91 for each)

Model 1: Points = f(Level, Results Stats, Profile Stats)

Points = 388.5058 - [2.9748 * Level] + [0.0023 * Results Stats] + [0.0011 * Profile Stats] + e
p-values: Intercept .000, Level .422, Results Stats .102, Profile Stats .427
joint F-statistic: 184.04, p-value .000
R Square 0.864
Adjusted R Square 0.859

Model 2: Points = f(Level, Results Stats)

Points = 394.8947 - [3.0203 * Level] + [0.0033 * Results Stats] + e
p-values: Intercept .000, Level .414, Results Stats .000
joint F-statistic: 276.88, p-value: .000
R Square 0.863
Adjusted R Square 0.860

Model 3: Points = f(Level, Profile Stats)

Points = 374.6798 - [2.7837 * Level] + [0.0032 * Profile Stats] + e
p-values: Intercept .000, Level .456, Profile Stats .000
joint F-statistic: 269.37, p-value: .000
R Square 0.860
Adjusted R Square 0.856

So Points Earned is determined almost exclusively by the difference between one's ATK and the rival's DEF (as we know), and which seems to be measured more accurately by the values on the Fight Results screen than those on the players' profiles.

The specific formula for Points Earned is best approximated as (using Model 2, the closest fit):
395 + [Rival's DEF - Your ATK]*.0033.

This is probably the least accurate for players with really high stats, where there is a large absolute deviation between the player's and the rival's stats. In my sample, the variation in the Results Stats variable spanned [-114554, 71895], so that coefficient's point estimate of .0033 may not be reliable far outside those bounds. Just in case anyone was interested.

Ppppphhhhh. With an adjusted R square of only 0.86, maybe it's time to go back to square one with your models

Long time ago I kept track of points scored and difference between my attack and the rivals defense (from the rob / attack screen. Most of my data points only seemed to be depending on the difference, only a few outliers. But the relation was certainly not linear. There was a lot more increase in points when rival's def and my attack were about the same.

This is all BS. doesn't matter their stats. It matters where they are in the pvp. I've attacked ppl with def of 80k!! ( I'm over 2 mil) and they'd give me crap points.

If only. As a non-participant I'd give people rubbish points and they'd leave me out of it. Not so simple as that.

Did you actually read RedEyePad's post? Based on his formula you would score crap points indeed attacking someone with 80k def while having over 2m attack.
I'm certain their stats (compared to yours) do matter. But their ranking in PvP probably matters as well.

Good point, it's definitely not linear - I also noticed that points fall off when attacking weaker rivals faster than they jump up when attacking stronger rivals, so a better model might be quadratic when ATK>RivalDEF and logarithmic when ATK<RivalDEF, something like:

http://s24.postimg.org/qukbm6l45/images.png

which also nests the behavior you referred to: points increase most rapidly in the neighborhood of your current stats. You could use nonparametric methods to estimate the functional form, but naively applying OLS is good enough for me vs. trying to coax maximum likelihood estimates out of excel on my laptop. Not like it really matters anyway, but thank you for taking a look Simius.

Oh and yeah - points very well may be related instead to the rival's position in the event standings, but which is pretty much unobservable, so the conclusion then is that the measured stat differences appear to serve as a relatively effective observable proxy.

Saw Cold Commander mention on another players wall that he was getting over 2000 a rob against the player...

I do pretty well with my main but this event sure makes it easier for upper level high stat accounts to make top 500 etc..

My camper can't really do anything with 200 -300 a hit max

2151 that's impressive.
Is that 2.5m against 4.4m ?
In that case I wonder how many times you could win? 1 on 100 ?

That one does look a lot more like it indeed. Although from my experience the zero point was shifted a little bit more to the right. I didn't really try hard to put a function on it, however it did behave like for example 1/(1+e^(-x)), with some constants added, and another function probably depending on the oponents total points or ranking.

Ok, I don't mean it's ALL BS. Most definitely it is what rank your syndicate is in. I went from a higher ranked syndicate, and a rival was getting 900s, and then to a lower syndicate and that rival started getting 700s.
