To farm the M4a1... I heard this was the best gun ever and I need to build my stats since the game is so unbalanced.

It's much better to farm event items now, since they are handing out hundred stat weapons daily.

Ahhh the good days when free players could Compete.
I heard that because of stat inflation people stopped farming these guns. They then became rusty and weak.
Shame really, can't imagine they could of made the game as Inbalanced as it is now.

The game has always been unbalanced and is no less unbalanced now. Some players can beat everyone now as they could in the past. Some players can get beat by everyone as they did in the past. I can beat some players but get my fair share of beatings, so no change there.

You can go pull up my old posts about how stat inflation is inevitable and the fact that new players couldn't get the m4 would not be a big deal.
Can you believe the game really used to be all about clicking on the shooting gallery every day? How boring.

Sort of an inactive veteran here? Nothing is worth farming really except maybe non consumable explosives, but even then it is better to pre hit jobs for when the events happen so you can progress further, assuming you don't use gold.

Don't laugh; the numbers some people had back in the day was pretty decisive. 400-500 of those babies meant only the big gold spenders of the old game could beat you really. Closest thing I had was the old respect sawn-off 22/14

Hahaha. LMAO!! That REALLY says a lot about this crazy stats inflation!!
It's not that bad though, in the sense that 500 of these can potentially bring you up 10k. but in reality 22/20 so low now, 500 of these might only bring you up 5k now.
Wow, this game sure has changed a lot!!

I never bought that explanation. You did the same thing with the Mossburg, right? But you just nerfed that one right away and the problem went away. the M4 was around for over a year, everyone was aware of it, and you did nothing. That decision didn't smell like an "oops, we done goofed" response.

Well, that's understandable, but I was there for it. That was back in the pre-Gree shoestring days, and the simple fact was that there wasn't nearly as much attention paid to the forums as there should have been (we had our hands full with the spammers, frankly). People get upset nowadays because there may be a weekend where something is first reported in the forums and it gets missed, but back then we missed something for nearly a *year*.
EDIT: Seriously, I wish we could just say it was a straight nerf, because the truth is embarrassing.

Basically. My understanding was that it was brought up fairly early, but due to the nature of the bug it looked harmless so no one took a closer look until a lot later down the line (it was a really small staff then, and everyone had their hands full early on).
It WAS a really good thing that the bug was dealt with before we added events, though. Duplicate data being generated could have caused even worse problems down the line. We still wish it had been sorted earlier, though.
