View Full Version : Idea for new sticky - Administrator Daily Communication Log

Wouldn't it be a great idea if Gree administrators created a a daily communication log.

This would allow the Modern War community to have transparency regarding communications.
They could update on issues, communicate new roll outs, and just let the Modern War community know they are aware of what is going on, ON A DAILY BASIS.

It should be a locked thread only to be updated by Gree administrators to prevent ranting.
Even generic responses are much appreciated, as it lets us know they are aware of issues and working on them.

I was thinking about what makes me mad about this game and biggest reason is lack of communication.
The promise was made from Gree that they would communicate more, but sometimes I see days without a post from administrators.

I know I know, it will be like this:

"Thanks for reading GREE Forum! We apologize for the delay in reply to your initial query. Please let us know if you are still experiencing an issue in-game, and if so please feel free to send us a ticket. One of our specialists will be happy to assist you.

If the issue has since been resolved, please feel free to disregard this post."

Or maybe:

"Please note that due to higher than normal volume our post times are longer than normal. We request that you do not send multiple requests or posts regarding the same issue. We appreciate your patience as we work to address your inquiry. We will reply as soon as we have an update for your issue."

This has been brought up before, and it is a solid idea but harder to consistently implement than you'd think (at least in the way that people would want it to work).

Here's the thing though. Back in the fun ol' days about a year ago, when factions and World Domination were brand new, and game-breaking bugs were a daily occurrence, I'd update the forums every couple of hours (excepting sleep time). And it didn't seem to do too much to reduce the general anxiety level or blunt requests for more information (it actually increased them, to be honest). That's only one data point, but it was my experience with a similar set-up.

Also, Sith, stop trolling.

While it may seem that way CJ, I guarantee that you will DECREASE anxiety levels by properly communicating.

Issues left unaddressed in general seem to cause panic and unrest. While it may not be your specific job to monitor the forums, it really isnt that difficult.

I know this because I do it daily... responding to multiple threads every day, and I'm not getting paid. I help where I can, but obviously those with insider knowledge can speak more knowledgeably about a plethora of subjects.

Heck come to think of it, I'm paying YOU to be here lol.

The increase in posts starting today is a great start. I have personally noticed a significant decrease in angry posts now that you have given answers. Whether people like the answers is irrelevant. They have something tangible to work with.

Food for thought...

CJ you can never get close to pleasing everyone, I know that you know that, as long as yall try and show or tell us that you see the issue thats all we really can ask for. I've done coding and fixing broken codes and it takes a lot to run down an issue I know. One period in the wrong place is hell.

All I ask is you keep us players in the loop that you at least see the issue so we know someone is trying to help.

Some idea of what your plans are for this game would go a long way CJ. Establish some sort of stat gain/XP gain continuity between wars so we all have somewhat of an idea of what to expect. Stat hyperinflation came out of nowhere, and then all of a sudden we get these LTQs that are insane for XP with so-so units? How do you expect people to react to that? Bugs are bugs and thats going to happen, but decisions are made by people about XP and unit strength and you guys leave us scratching our heads. No one understands what you're doing.....maybe you don't either but at least let us know

A daily update to acknowledge issues reported and are in the pipeline to be fixed or is part of the game would prevent many threads/tickets being opened on the subject. Please start one because it would help this gaming community enormously... Example is the Android indestructibles show as destructible is a display glitch, where at least 3 threads were opened and god knows how many tickets. Honestly, the positives outweigh the negatives!!!

One daily post on weekdays in a standard format... Is it really that much to ask?

I like this idea. You can still post comments in individual threads but at least we'd have one place to go to get the latest info on all ongoing issues from the devs/mods instead of scrolling through thread after thread looking for the blue text.

It is A great idea and locking it would ensure only the correct people can put anything on it.

Thanks for your reply CJ.

I understand the struggles associated with dealing with the masses, you can not please everyone.
I work in a technical field, dealing directly with customers all day.
Sometimes technical issues happen and customers just need to voice their anger.
Do not take this as a reflection on your performance as an administrator.

Your only responsibility is to summarize the issues, summarize the customer feedback, and communicate the information both to your company and its customers.

When commenting about glitches, issues, and problems unfortunately the messenger tends to get the brunt of the angry comments.
Most of us understand the games technical issues are outside of your control, but someone has to be the messenger and I hope it is you.
Please do not give up on communicating daily in a locked thread...it really will be appreciated by most.

Many well made points here. There is no way to make everyone happy, changes and bugs and fixes etc. Come at a quick pace and we understand that. All we are looking for is communication. Lock the thread like others have stated.

Right now your biggest problem is many times a perception you are trying to trick us into buying gold somehow and a general distrust and mass confusion when a new event pops up. We have a very active faction chat room and the big theme all the time is there is big distrust that some kind of twist or curveball is going to be thrown in to the event. People are spending real life money now more than ever for the plethora of events, that should be a good thing I would think. With more spending comes a higher expectation of service.

Communication is the answer here. We as individuals may not like any one particular change or style of event, but as long as we know the rules we can plan accordingly. To many "Peception is reality" and clear communication is how you manage perception or the more popular buzzword lately seems to be the "optics".

You at the very least let the community know you guys are engaged.
