View Full Version : Gree/Site admin, why does my IP keep getting banned?

Since I first came to this site, I have had issues with my IP being banned, for no apparent reason(The first time I even stumbled across this site it said my IP had been banned by the site admin, and I had never even been here before, I've not even played any of the other games GungHo makes). It's been getting significantly worse in the last few days, heck just yesterday when I first tried to get on, it said I'd been banned, so I submitted my umpteenth support ticket, it got fixed, and then it happened AGAIN. I've repeatedly asked in my support ticket for an email to be sent giving me possible explanations and solutions to fix it so it doesn't happen, but nothings ever happened, so now I'm posting on the forums in the hope that you all see this and I can finally not have to worry about this anymore.

Heck, if any posters have any experience with this issue, I'd love to hear from you as well. I'm pretty sure I don't have a rotating IP, so I doubt it's that. I use FireFox with adblock/adblock +, i'm on Win7 with all stuff up to date(firefox is as well, just updated yesterday as a matter of fact).

College dorm using a shared public IP address for the whole dorm and someone else in the dorm being targeted with an IP ban or something like that/ISP messing around in a similar way?
If your ISP/dorm/whatever provides your router with an IP address in a private IP range, such a think could be the problem.

Lol. No, I'm married, and live on top of a mountain. I only have one next door neighbor, and my My WiFi has a secure passcode attached to it, so I'm the only person capable of using it.

As a test, I logged into my neighbors WiFi(with their permission), and was allowed to view the forums, and thusly make this post. I then tried to log-in with my WiFi, and was again given the "This IP has been banned by the Site administrator" spiel. I then logged back in using my neighbor WiFi and was again allowed to view the forums.

This is getting quite frustrating, I've asked multiple times in the literally dozen support tickets filed for the site admin to email me, and have gotten absolutely zilch in reply. I just log in, and my IP has been unbanned again. I've certainly done nothing to break forum rules, as again, the first time I even stumbled across this site, it said my IP had been banned.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're getting banned for using adblock. A lot of sites are starting to do that.

This is a forum, so no, its not adblock. Go find a proxy.

Its a forum with a big doubleclick.net ad banner at the top. It also wouldn't be the first forum I've seen ban people because of ad-block.

If he keeps getting banned, its because hes doing something that the site doesn't like. If its not because of behavior, its probably something his computer is doing.

Yes, because 1 ad is going to make you big bucks and worthy of IP banning...

All I know is I would very much like to find a resolution to this issue. If it's adblock, could a Site Admin confirm that, I"ll happily safelist the site if it is, and deal with the resulting ads. I'm not going to safelist it unless I have to though, I despise ads, lol.

It's not adblock. You also don't get IP banned for adblock, you get a popup telling you to turn it off or you can't view the page.

Sigh. That sucks :-(. LOL. I was honestly hoping it would be something as simple as that. I mean, I literally can't go more then 48 hours without being IP banned, and with a total lack of communication from Gree, I'm starting to hit my wits end.

I've never had a problem with this, or any site, because of adblock.

You're getting banned and then unbanned, and then banned again?

You get whatever the heck that particular site decides to do. There are plenty out there that ban for adblock.

You don't just go into a website and get IP banned because you have adblock on, genius...much less a forum.

You would need around 10 posts to be able to create a thread. However, you should ask whatever questions you have in the question and answer thread available.
